Job Summary
The Regional Director of Facilities provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of maintenance and engineering functions across multiple hotel properties. This role ensures optimal execution of repairs, preventative maintenance, capital projects, and safety compliance while supporting the development and performance of on-site engineering teams. The position serves as a vital resource for property-level staff and ensures consistency in service and facility standards throughout a designated region.
Essential Functions and Duties
Communicate effectively and professionally with property teams, vendors, and corporate leadership
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety standards
Oversee and support property teams in completing fire, safety, and regulatory inspections
Administer and enhance the preventative maintenance program across the portfolio
Coach, mentor, and train engineering and maintenance staff on technical procedures, safety, and guest service standards
Lead vendor relations, including negotiations, scope definition, and product evaluation
Develop and evaluate cost estimates, bids, and project timelines for renovations and capital improvements
Provide hands-on technical support in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life-safety systems as needed
Support inventory and tool management at the property level
Maintain clear, consistent communication on project progress with senior leadership
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety in all maintenance workspaces
Serve as a visible leader and role model for the company’s core values

Required Experience, Education, and Skills
High School Diploma or GED required; vocational or college education in electrical, mechanical engineering, or plumbing preferred
Minimum 6 years of experience in facilities, plant operations, or engineering services within hospitality
Certifications and licenses as required by local/state law
Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance trades
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to lead, coach, and influence multiple property-level teams
Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage contractor performance and compliance
Must be consistently accessible and responsive to property needs
Working Conditions
Frequent travel regionally or throughout the United States, depending on region
May be required to work evenings, weekends, or holidays
Must be available for after-hours emergency calls
Travel between hotel properties is expected
Fast-paced environments with frequent physical activity, including walking and lifting (up to 75 lbs)
Requires reading, writing, reasoning, and basic math for project planning and documentation
Must be capable of making quick, safety-conscious decisions in emergency situations
