About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for an Innovation Manager. This position can be located in Navi Mumbai (IND).

The Innovation Manager role is responsible for leading supply chain design project activities that focus on maximizing business value growth, economic profit, cash flow and customer service through improvements in supply chain costs, capital investment, asset utilization, productivity, and quality. Data science activities will focus on supporting the supply chain design & modify domain to identify, develop or acquire, and demonstrate the continuum of advanced analytic technologies and methods (modeling, simulation, optimization, automation, artificial intelligence) to a wide range of SC design challenges.  This role will be critical in increasing understanding and use of advanced digital technology throughout Dow’s SC Design process while creating competitively advantaged intellectual property for Dow.

Responsibilities

  • Use of advanced techniques, such as discrete event simulation, optimization, data mining, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling, to develop solutions that help businesses and organizations operate more efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Design and implement IT architecture needed to automate current manual processes.
  • Build relationships and consult with all levels of internal business partners including executives, managers, business users, and developers.
  • Gather relevant quantitative and qualitative information by extracting data from databases and engaging with business partners.
  • Interpret data, identify relevant analyses, and develop models and/or reports with the goal of providing actionable insights that support the business area.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate degree (A PhD is a plus) in Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Demonstrated skill and experience in modeling, optimization, automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning is a plus.
  • 8 years of experience applying the required skills for this role

Preferred Skills

  • Broad SC functional skills in supply chain planning, inventory management/replenishment, transportation, and risk management. Experience with supply chain simulation and optimization software (Arena, Supply Chain Guru, etc.)
  • Experience and proficiency working with big data and large relational databases (Teradata, Hadoop, SQL Server, etc.). Proficiency in developing reports using data visualization platforms (Power BI and Tableau preferred, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Strong programming/data processing experience (including the use of statistical software such as SAS, Python, R, etc.), in context of deriving analytic insights and performance measurement. Experience with developing data science web applications using tools like R Shiny is a plus.
