About the Job
The Red Hat Quality Engineering team is looking for an Associate Quality Software Engineer to join us in our Boston, MA office. In this role, you will work on an open source tool Podman Desktop, a multi OS (MacOS, Windows, linux) project aimed at application developers who use containers. Your duties will include understanding project requirements, designing and inventing solutions for the automation of CI processes, implementing test scenarios, increasing testing coverage. You will be responsible for all aspects of quality of the product, including developing new automated tests for APIs or GUIs, design performance and usability tests as well as designing software testing processes - setting quality gates or defining interoperability testing scenarios. As an Automation Engineer, you will have the chance to work with some of the brightest engineers in the open source industry while acting as an advocate for our customers. We'll need you to have excellent technical and creative thinking skills, as you'll be encouraged to develop innovative solutions to technical issues on a daily basis. This position is a great opportunity to make a difference in building innovative tools for developers, while working on solutions used by thousands of people around the world.

What You'll Do
Research, develop, and implement test automation tools and frameworks to enable a high degree of test automation
Develop and carry out functional, integration, usability, performance, regression, or other types of tests
Act as an internal advocate for the customers and participate in interacting with the user community or customers
Constantly learn new things and maintain an overview of current technologies
Collaborate with software developers, support, and documentation teams
Follow agile principles
What You'll Bring
Knowledge of multiple OSes (Windows, Mac OS, linux)
Practical experience with CI/CD systems,
Experience with testing frameworks or tools
Experience with languages like Bash, Python or Go
Experience with the following is considered a plus:
Experience with technologies like Containers, Podman, Docker, Compose
Knowledge of AWS or Azure service providers
Understanding of key operating system and security concepts
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
