Job Summary:

Global Construction and Infrastructure (GCI) is seeking a Sales Representative to join their team in the Africa, Middle East and Eurasia region. The role involves covering the West and Central Africa area to achieve sales targets and drive services growth. In this role, you will manage assigned dealer relationships to market company products and services and assist in the development of dealer sales capability.

What you will do:

  • Designing and assisting dealers on the forecast, sales strategy planning, and sales techniques; supporting the rollout of new products.

  • Performing regular sales performance and sales targets reviews with dealers and ensuring implementation of corrective actions where needed.

  • Acting within the business process guidance on review and approval for variance programs and commercial actions.

  • Presenting products or services for stakeholders, answering any customer questions, and addressing their needs.

Skills you will have:

  • Extensive experience in communications, relationship management and customer focus - Fosters strong customer relationships via delivery on commitments, open communication, and on-going feedback/improvement.

  • Extensive experience in Value selling: Ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.

  • Extensive experience in decision making and critical thinking - Ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Knowledge of industry trends and regulatory environment and business development techniques.

  • Ability to engage and negotiate with others to achieve win-win solutions.     

What will put you forward:

  • University degree in Business, Marketing or Engineering or equivalent experience required.

  • 4 - 5 years’ experience in commercial roles involving dealer and/or customer facing interactions.

  • Fluent in English and French (speaking and writing).

Top candidates will also have:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of Caterpillar construction products and applications.

  • Strong drive and organizational capabilities.

Additional Details:

  • Travel: up to 50% in assigned territories. – West and Central Africa.

  • Work location:  Abidjan
