Job Description:

  • Kew location, close to public transport
  • Excellent benefits including salary packaging
  • Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat: 8:00am – 2:00pm
  • 36 hrs per week

About the Role
You will deliver efficient and responsive cleaning and housekeeping services at our Caritas Christi campus. Areas include offices, resident rooms, common and clinical areas.

  • Waste Removal: general waste, clinical and sharps waste, recyclables and confidential waste as per waste management policies. Restocking of bins and sharps containers as necessary
  • Floor Maintenance: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, buffing and steam cleaning floors.
  • Detail dusting/damp wiping: all low & high reach areas including fixtures fittings, equipment, vents and walls and sinks
  • Bathrooms: including toilets, hand basins, shower rooms/baths and facilities
  • General Tidiness: maintain general tidiness of public and all service areas.
  • If required, deliver meals & beverages to residents

The classification for this position will be PS21 ($57,002 per annum pro-rata)


Your Contribution

  • Experience in cleaning (preferably in a health care environment)
  • Experience in floor care maintenance, including steam cleaning, polishing and buffing (desirable)
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Able to work under minimal supervision
  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain

About the Support Services Team

Become an integral member of the dynamic Support Services team and assist our teams in the delivery of excellence across our many services including cleaning, patient ward support, patient food production and delivery, clerical ward support, patient transport and car parking services across our sites.

About the Palliative Care Team at Caritas Christi

Palliative Care is the active total care of people whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment. Care is delivered by coordinated medical, nursing and allied health services that are provided, where possible, in the environment of the person's choice.

St Vincent’s palliative care service encompass a new purpose built 20 inpatient bed unit at Caritas Christi at Kew, which opened August 2021; a hospital based Palliative Care Consultancy Service; and the Centre for Palliative Care, a leader in research and Education.
