 Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior IT Analyst Applications (IT Data Specialist) to join our Sales orders/S&OP/Supply Chain Delivery &Support team from CAT IT Division.

The Sales System Senior IT Analyst will provide expertise in computer application development and technical knowledge for the purpose of solving customer business problems and assisting customers in achieving business strategies within Resource Industries - IT, Order Fulfillment and Procurement Division.  Products within this portfolio include Order Management and S&OP corporate applications. 

 The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield Office, Bangalore, India

Job Roles and Responsibilities

This position will build a modern and agile world class order management platform in support of current and future business capabilities leveraging Snowflake, Snaplogic, Qlik, technologies. The incumbent will contribute to and lead design, development, and deployment of Caterpillar’s state-of-the-art order management and S&OP solutions. The incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Design and deliver IT solutions across enterprise, diversified departments
  • Work closely with delivery partners and business partners throughout the organization
  • Works directly on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including periodically responding to off-shift and weekend support calls
  • Works independently on complex systems or infrastructure components that may be used by one or more applications or systems
  • Drives application development focused around delivering business valuable features
  • Based on recognized expertise, provides project leadership, management, vendors, customers, and project teams on the most complex aspect of process development, system integration, and development methods 
  • Develops process and application delivery methodologies by investigating, defining, and implementing repeatable solutions
  • Provides case management support for highly-escalated business process related issues.
  • Employee is also responsible for performing other job duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time to time

What you will have 

  • Four-year Bachelor’s degree preferably in marketing, communications, computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of relevant job-related IT experience
  • 4+ years or more of experience in designing and developing data and database solutions
  • 4+ years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting data solutions using SQL, data modeling, various ETL tools and CDC methods
  • 3+ years of experience in Snowflake design, development, and support
  • Demonstrated experience working on medium to large-scale projects impacting strategic priorities
  • Must demonstrate solid knowledge of database fundamentals and industry best practices in building data solutions
  • Strong passion and hands-on technical experience with the ability to produce proof of concept service designs and/or drive the creation of artifacts by domain architects and implement personas, journey maps, storyboards, etc
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Experience in multiple business processes or organizations and experience in multiple IT disciplines
  • Knowledge and experience in AI concepts, AWS and SAP platforms, integration, and architecture patterns
  • Strong accountability, planning/organization, teamwork and customer focus
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional or potentially controversial situations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints
  • Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale

Application Design, Architecture: Knowledge of basic activities and deliverables of application design; ability to utilize application design methodologies, tools and techniques to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.
Level Extensive Experience:
• Facilitates in application design reviews and walkthroughs.
• Creates and evaluates technical alternatives for complex applications.
• Interprets application services such as API; integrates them with technical design.
• Develops various, distinct and multiple technical application designs.
• Prepares technical design documents and blueprints for applications.
• Explores and evaluates application design considerations for multiple technologies.

Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
Level Working Knowledge:
• Tracks problems associated with the quality and effectiveness of application software.
• Researches the benefits and drawbacks of an organization's application software.
• Drafts application software usage for the department's needs.
• Provides instant support for end users of application software.
• Implements a specific application software under the supervision of management.
