Cleveland Clinic offers a complete range of fertility specialty services for both men and women, including traditional therapies, IVF, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, sperm aspiration, assisted hatching, blastocyte transfer, embryo cryopreservation, donor eggs and sperm, and IVY surrogacy. As an In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Technologist, you will work in the fertility laboratories at Beachwood Family Health & Surgery Center to: 

  • Perform andrology procedures and testing.  

  • Determine the validity of test results and communicate those results, reference ranges, specimen requirements, and other pertinent information to authorized sources.  

  • Upon completion of training, perform basic embryology procedures such as egg retrievals, sperm preparation, mouse quality control, and embryo transfers.  

  • Actively participate in ongoing research.  

  • Assist in data analysis and manuscript writing.  



The ideal future caregiver is someone who:  

  • Is interested in fertility and embryology.  

  • Has two years of research experience in cell biology or a related field. A master’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical terminology may substitute for some of the experience.  

  • Has extensive experience in cell culture, immunofluorescent, or molecular biology techniques.  

  • Treats all patients and their families with compassion, empathy, and positivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs clinical and research duties in a high-volume in vitro fertilization program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Biological Science or Biomedical Engineering.

Certifications:

  • None required.

Complexity of Work:

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Work Experience:

  • Two years research experience in cell biology or related field.
  • Master’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology may substitute for some of the experience requirement.
  • Experience with tissue culture techniques and working with microscopes.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with extensive experience in cell culture, immunoflourescent or molecular biology techniques.

Physical Requirements:

  • Strong eye-hand coordination along with manual dexterity.
  • High degree of dexterity to produce materials on a PC.
  • Normal or corrected vision.
  • Extensive sitting and frequent walking.
  • Occasional lifting or carrying up to 25.
