Job Summary
The Supervisor, Warehouse is a first‑line management role responsible for supervising day‑to‑day warehouse operations to ensure safe, accurate, and efficient handling, storage, and movement of materials and finished goods. This role combines direct people leadership with hands‑on operational oversight, focusing on execution discipline, productivity, safety, inventory accuracy, and service levels.Job Description
Role Overview
The Supervisor, Warehouse leads daily execution of warehouse activities including receiving, put‑away, picking, packing, staging, and shipping coordination. The role is operational and execution‑focused, emphasizing work prioritization, floor leadership, issue resolution, and coaching, while ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
This position includes direct supervisory responsibility for Warehouse Associates, Material Handlers, or Forklift Operators and typically reports to a Warehouse Manager, Logistics Manager, or Operations Leader (M2–M3).
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Execution
Supervise daily warehouse activities to meet operational and customer requirements
Coordinate workloads, staffing, and priorities across shifts or zones
Ensure efficient material flow and optimal use of warehouse space
People Leadership & Supervision
Directly supervise warehouse staff
Assign work, manage capacity, and monitor attendance and performance
Provide coaching on procedures, productivity, and safety
Support onboarding, training, and certification requirements
Participate in performance evaluations and corrective actions
Inventory Accuracy & Controls
Ensure accurate inventory handling, location control, and transaction execution
Support cycle counts, physical inventories, and discrepancy resolution
Enforce warehouse controls and documentation standards
Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping
Enforce safe work practices and proper use of material handling equipment
Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements
Maintain warehouse organization and housekeeping standards
Order Fulfillment & Service Levels
Ensure timely and accurate picking, packing, and staging of orders
Support resolution of order errors, shortages, or delays
Partner with Shipping to meet delivery commitments
Systems, Tools & Process Adherence
Ensure effective use of WMS, ERP, and scanning systems
Reinforce standard operating procedures and workflows
Maintain accurate records and reporting as required
Issue Resolution & Escalation
Serve as first‑level escalation point for warehouse execution issues
Support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions
Coordinate resolution with Inventory Control, Logistics, and Operations
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Partner with Logistics, Inventory Control, Materials, Production, and Customer Service
Align warehouse activities with inbound and outbound schedules
Provide operational feedback to support continuous improvement
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, space utilization, and productivity
Support standardization of warehouse processes and best practices
Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or associate degree preferred (or equivalent experience)
Typically 5–8 years of warehouse or logistics operations experience
Prior experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating warehouse staff strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of warehouse operations and material handling processes
Knowledge of inventory control principles and WMS/ERP systems
Proven frontline leadership or supervisory capability
Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
High accountability, judgment, and attention to detail

• Typically has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional certification and 3 years of prior relevant experience
