A core function within Sales Operations is the Deal Desk a strategic team focused on enabling healthy, compliant, and profitable customer agreements while minimizing friction for sales teams and accelerating deal velocity.

Your Impact

As a Senior Commercial Desk Specialist – EMEA, you will act as a trusted commercial advisor to Sales Leadership and cross-functional partners across Europe. You will leverage deep expertise in deal structuring, pricing, and commercial terms to support complex, high-value, and multi-country transactions.

This role is critical in ensuring that European deals are structured in line with company policies, regional regulatory requirements, and financial objectives, while balancing customer needs and sales execution speed. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior Deal Desk colleagues and driving continuous improvement across EMEA processes.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Deal Support (EMEA)

  • Lead the structuring, review, and approval of complex and non-standard commercial deals across European markets.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Sales, supporting negotiations with a strong understanding of regional market practices (especially Italy or France).
  • Ensure deal alignment with revenue recognition rules, pricing governance, and internal approval frameworks.
  • Provide expert guidance on pricing models, discounting, contract terms, and risk mitigation.
  • Support multi-country and multi-currency transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a senior point of contact between Sales, Finance, Legal, and Operations for EMEA deal execution.
  • Proactively identify and resolve deal-related risks and escalations.
  • Contribute to regional and global initiatives aimed at improving deal quality, speed, and scalability.
  • Represent EMEA Deal Desk perspectives in global alignment discussions.

Operational Excellence & Enablement

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of Salesforce (SFDC) data and deal documentation.
  • Drive adherence to Deal Desk processes, approval workflows, and audit requirements.
  • Support enablement of Sales teams by explaining deal structures, policies, and best practices in a clear and pragmatic way.
  • Mentor junior Deal Desk team members and share best practices across the EMEA region.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and seller experience.

Skills & Qualifications

Core Competencies

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance business growth and risk management.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders across cultures.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS and/or enterprise software business models.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, matrixed, international environment.

Experience & Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; business, finance, or economics preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Deal Desk, Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, or Finance, ideally within a SaaS or enterprise sales environment.
  • Proven experience supporting European sales organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of pricing, discounting, revenue recognition, and contract structures.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Salesforce and CPQ experience is a strong plus.

Language Requirements

  • Fluent English (mandatory)
  • Italian or French will be a plus
