The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing cutting-edge solutions utilizing a wide range of technologies, including Java, Big Data frameworks, AI/ML concepts, and cloud platforms. You will be a key contributor to the architecture, development, and deployment of our data-driven applications.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable applications using Java and related technologies.
• Work extensively with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, and Scala to process and analyze large datasets.
• Develop and implement data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage.
• Write, optimize, and debug SQL queries across various platforms including BigQuery, Athena, Spark SQL, and Snowflake.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java full-stack technologies.
• Utilize Python for scripting, data analysis, and reporting.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of AI/ML models and solutions.
• Deploy and manage applications in cloud environments (AWS and GCP).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, product managers, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation efforts.
• Mentor junior developers and contribute to the growth of the team.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the Big Data, AI/ML, and cloud computing spaces.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
• Contribute to the improvement of our development processes and best practices.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software development.
• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles.
• Extensive experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS, Spark, and Scala.
• Experience with SQL and various database platforms (BigQuery, Athena, Spark SQL, Snowflake).
• Solid experience with Python programming for scripting, data analysis, and reporting.
• Experience with Java full-stack development, including frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Experience with Cloud environments (AWS and GCP), including services such as EC2, S3, Cloud Storage, and Compute Engine.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and algorithms.
• Understanding of data warehousing principles and ETL processes.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Impact You'll Make:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with data visualization tools.
• Exposure to R language.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
