SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER II

***This is a Hybrid position located in Chicago, IL

Egencia is one of the world's leading corporate travel management companies and is part of American Express Global Business Travel.
We work with clients to ensure their employees have a phenomenal experience when they travel for work.
We also help companies understand their business travel expenses and fulfill their duty of care.
We seek a Full Stack Engineer to join our team of experienced software developers.

The Egencia Search team builds features and tools to empower our travelers to search for all our product offerings and allow travelers to book their complete trips on the platform. The team's responsibilities span web development and backend micro-services using multiple languages and frameworks including Java, React, Spring, and Kotlin.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Contribute to refining business requirements
  • Help design, build and maintain high-quality software systems
  • Write unit, automation, and integration tests to ensure the quality of your product.
  • Collaborate with teams across the organization and regions
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Seek new skills to improve your work and organizational practices
  • Enthusiastically look for ways to make our customers' experiences better


WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor's / Master’s in Computer Science or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
  • 2+ years of developing enterprise web applications in Java development environment a must
  • Strong experience in front-end web technologies including JavaScript, Node, or React
  • Excellent problem-solving and strong communication skills
  • Experience supporting the infrastructure and deployment pipelines of applications
  • Experience applying engineering principles to improve existing systems
  • Communicates with clarity and precision, presenting complex information in a concise format

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $60,000 to $120,000.  The national range provided includes the base salary that Egencia expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
