15+ years of professional experience with 3+ years of audit, regulatory supervisions / exam management, risk management, compliance, operational risk assessment, and/or control analysis experience required
Ability to understand the regulatory ask, engage with business owners on the requirements, manage the receivables, challenge sufficiency and quality of information obtained
Bachelor’s degree or higher required; relevant experience at a regulatory agency preferred but not required
Five years of management/leadership experience
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to effectively communicate with senior management
Ability to work independently and navigate a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment with the aim of developing solutions
Strong analytical, problem solving, planning, project management, strategic thinking, organizational, decision-making and judgment skills, as well as strong relationship management and negotiation skills
Commitment to personal development, including an ability to learn quickly and adapt to business needs/priorities as needed
Ability to perform multiple tasks and determine when to escalate issues
This position may require occasional travel
Impact You'll Make:
Oversee and coordinate the Supervisory Relationship Program, which involves activities such as:
Coordinating and leading onsite supervisory examinations by regulators covering a variety of topics
Communicating with, and being a point of contact with TransUnion’s U.S. regulators, including participating in bi-weekly update calls and acting as the primary point of contact on examinations
Coordinating information gathering from subject matter experts in various roles and businesses
Preparing and reviewing responses and regular reporting for regulators
Reporting on regulatory matters to senior leaders, the Enterprise Risk Management Committee and the Risk & Compliance Committee of the Board, including providing advice on regulatory management with the goal of reducing risk to TransUnion
Interact and seek alignment with senior global business leaders, up to and including the executive team, as well as attorneys, commercial customers, and third parties regarding TransUnion’s regulatory matters
Actively participate on the Risk & Compliance Leadership Team, including providing strategic vision for the Risk & Compliance Program and providing information, reporting and ongoing support to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer
Collaborate with other departments and functions (including Consumer Operations, Data Governance, Global Technology, etc.) to ensure a common understanding of supervisory requests to coordinated common and standards response materials supervisory assessments/examination
Oversee the management and continuous improvement of regulatory management documentation such as standards, procedures and guidelines
Develop materials and train stakeholders on examination management requirements and systems
Collaborate and strategize with employees at all levels across the company to ensure best practices in regulatory exam management and regulatory interactions
Develope short and long-term goals, objectives, and priorities that ensure compliance programs align with business objectives while complying with laws/regulations/third party requirements
Lead and manage experienced professionals who exercise some latitude and independence in supporting the development, continuous improvement and strategic implementation of the regulatory management program.
Coach and develop direct reports including, development strategies, career path guidance, identifying areas for improvements, and creating an environment that fosters knowledge sharing
Exercising full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, budget decisions, recruitment, discipline, termination, and other personnel actions
Communication
Develop and communicate calendar of supervisory obligations
Provide global senior level management with key compliance metrics and makes recommendations on risk mitigation strategies
Create and maintain templates for providing requested information to supervisory agencies
Create and distribute reports of supervisory examination findings and status of outstanding issues
Communicate with the relevant businesses and functions regarding regulatory issues, findings by the regulators, and remediation related to those findings
Prepare high-quality documentation that is appropriate for its intended audience
Efficiently and effectively communicate and explain program goals and objectives
Prepare business personnel for meetings with regulators
Organize and facilitate virtual and in-person meetings with employees at all levels across the company in both large and small group settings
Design, develop, and prepare management reports and metrics for management
Analysis
Independently research and recommend to management new or enhanced solutions for the purpose of improving existing or developing new supervisory interaction processes
Maintain awareness of current best practices, industry standards, data models and regulatory compliance to understand and evaluate potential areas of risk
Develop, maintain and analyze compliance program records and metrics
Analyzes trends, business objectives and regulatory climate to develop strategies that influence compliance management by driving efficiencies while mitigating risk
Teamwork
Establish and develop effective relationships with internal team members at various levels across the organization to ensure supervisory examination timelines and expectations are met.
Ensure that knowledge gained from efforts is documented, disseminated and understood.
Provide support to division and enterprise initiatives as needed
