About the role / the team:
We are growing our IT Vendor Management team and are looking for an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Senior Vendor Manager to manage the end-to-end vendor management relationships, to support our growing Client solutions, across Banking, Cards and Payments. You would be joining a small collaborative and supportive team that work closely on a broad range of Vendor solutions.
What you will be doing / Key Responsibilities:
Relationship Management: Maintains contact list for key IT vendors, and acts as the main contact, including liaison between FIS stakeholders and Vendor teams.
Performance Management: Monitors vendor performance & manages risk, including: delivery reliability, quality, and accuracy of estimates and invoices; quality and timeliness of delivery. Understands core operations management variables essential to ensuring IT vendor is effectively delivering services. Works with internal stakeholders to identify areas of opportunity to improve vendor performance and works with the IT vendors to put plans in place to remediate.
Monitors contractual agreements – reviews, evaluates, and monitors documents including statements of work (SOW) and service level agreements to ensure vendors comply with contractual terms and conditions. Manages the Vendor to the contract and demonstrates creativity when contracts do not address certain issues. Works closely with Legal and Procurement as contracts are negotiated.
In coordination with Global Supply Chain, evaluates potential IT suppliers using criteria such as industry experience, capacity, quality standards, and financial stability. Explains company’s IT expectations and standards and participates in negotiation of contract terms with IT vendors.
Reviews and drafts documentation including records of purchase items, proposals, costs, and Client inventories of vendor solutions.
Develops repository of IT vendor governance related documentation and maintains history of all vendor governance communications.
Troubleshoots escalated IT vendor performance problems and issues and provides reports to senior management for corrective actions. Engages with IT vendors to discuss issue, ensuring problem resolutions are achieved without compromising the relationship between vendors and IT functions supported. Mediates performance disputes.
Vendor Negotiations: Performs quantitative analysis leveraging, both industry and historical data, to determine deals to buy. Develops negotiation strategies and determines leverage points. Coordinates with operational business units to develop and refine product strategies. Along with the Global Sourcing team, participates in vendor negotiations.
Ensures IT needs for due diligence, risk assessment and continuing IT vendor monitoring are accomplished.
Analysis and comparison of vendor budgets and costs, with regular Finance engagement.
What you bring / Skills & Experience:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to varied audiences, including contractual agreements
Knowledge of financial services industry, within Banking, Cards and Payments
Knowledge of vendor relations, supply chain or procurement functions and procedures
Experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously
Knowledge of project management and financial management processes
Excellent problem solving, team, and time management skills managing multiple deadlines for self and others
Exceptional organizational/coordination skills
Proficiency to operate independently on work that is often confidential in nature
