What You Will Do

As part of the Information Technology Division, the Asset and Configuration Analyst is responsible for providing analytical, operational, and administrative support to the IT asset management process. In this role you will be responsible for storing and maintaining accurate hardware and software licensing information in the system of record in order to address budgeting, compliance, inventory, and contract needs. This position also assists with the procurement activities related to acquiring IT assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor hardware and software inventory for all IT assets.

• Updates and maintains records in the Asset Database from initial data capture of the asset through to its disposal.

• Assess data accuracy and perform corrective action as required.

• Monitor assets usage and produce accurate reporting.

• Collaborate with the global team as required to maintain an accurate view of the Enterprise-Wide assets consumption

• Support with all required ITAM audit.

• Highlight opportunities to target unused or restricted software for reclamation.

• Establish areas of risk and/or potential software compliance issues.

• Determine if available inventory can be allocated prior to initiating procurement activities.

• Generate and track Purchase Orders for the acquisition of IT assets.

• Collaborate with the Procurement and the Account Payable team.

• Collaborate with the Desktop Support team on the End-User Technology assets refresh planning.

The Expertise You Bring

  • College degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of ITAM certificates (CHAMP, CHAM) and ITIL Foundation are an asset.
  • 3 to 5 years in a similar role or with similar responsibilities.
  • Capable of engaging effectively with individuals at all levels and across teams within the organization.
  • Skilled at leading business conversations with stakeholders.
  • 2+ years of hands-on working experience with the use of Request, Asset (hardware/software) and Reporting modules (i.e. ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera One etc.)
  • 2+ years of hands-on working experience in using Microsoft Excel for advanced formulas and pivot tables.
  • Experience with procurement activities and experience working with vendors.
