Mental Health Clinician / Trainee / Practicum

Starting Compensation:

70000 - 80000 USD Per Year

Working Location:

Modesto, CA

Working Hours/Shift:

M-F 8AM-5PM, Some flexibility to meet client needs as availability to meet clients may be outside of 8AM-5PM window

What you bring to SBHG:

  • Master’s degree in child counseling, development or psychology, social services or vocational counseling or related social science field required

  • Licensed as AMFT, ACSW, or APCC required.

  • Valid California Driver's License required

  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus

    Students currently enrolled in a Master’s program and seeking a practicum site and who want to gain hands-on experience in a supportive mental health outpatient/community based setting are encouraged to apply

How you will make a difference:

  • Conducts initial and ongoing assessments of the youth and family to identify strengths and needs, to include diagnosing clients with emotional disturbances.

  • Uses a “whatever it takes” approach to provide services in various settings, including homes, schools, community, and office settings. Uses personal vehicle to drive to and from offsite locations to provide services.

  • Provides direct care services, including individual, group, and family therapy. Also provides case management and collateral services to clients and their families, as deemed necessary and appropriate through the assessment/plan of care process and in collaboration with the Child and Family team.

  • Provides crisis intervention to youth and families as needed. Part of an after-hours crisis support on-call rotation.

  • Documents all services provided in a clear and concise manner within the Electronic Health Record within the timelines and framework established by Central Star
