Adventist HealthCare seeks to hire an experienced Director of Physician Recruitment and Development who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

As a Director of Physician Recruitment and Development, you will:
• Development of physician recruitment strategy and programs, policies, and procedures in alignment with organizational goals, workforce planning, best practices, and innovative approaches, and in collaboration with clinical and operational leadership and in partnership with Finance/Physician Compensation, Med Staff/Credentialing, Legal, HR and Marketing
• Administration and management of the physician recruitment team and collaboration with organizational partners to meet organizational goals and physician recruitment and development performance standards, including overseeing end-to-end recruitment and onboarding – sourcing, screening, scheduling and conducting interviews, checking references and background, evaluating applicant qualifications, physician payer and hospital privileging, orientation and onboarding; developing strong candidate pipelines, including developing and maintaining contacts with training programs, placement firms, current medical staff, current medical groups, hospital and practice administrators, vendors and other sources of applicants; ensuring a high-quality, high-touch candidate experience
• Development of physician development strategy and programs to support physician retention, including approaches to leadership development, engagement, and organizational culture in partnership with operational dyad leadership
• Management of, and serving as primary point of contact for, all physician contracting for employed physicians
• Development and oversight of physician recruitment and development metrics and budget, and oversight of initiatives to achieve performance targets, utilizing data to determine effectiveness of recruitment efforts and adjust recruitment strategies; maintenance of data on recruitment activities, applicant flow, interviews, and recruitment results; regular communication to all key stakeholders on progress of the physician recruitment and development function through regular meetings and reports
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications include:
• Knowledge of principles and practices of physician recruitment and development sufficient to manage, direct, and coordinate the operations of a health care organization’s physician recruitment and development department
• Knowledge of physician compensation and contracting frameworks in the context of health systems operations sufficient to support physician contracting and oversee physician contract management
• Ability to form positive relationships with physicians combined with a desire to work with physicians
• Strong leadership skills, including problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to inspire and empower team to achieve excellent outcomes
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including presentation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including superior physician relationship skills
• Ability to operate skillfully within all levels of the organization with a flexible approach, including the ability to establish and maintain sound and productive relationships interdepartmentally, with organizational leadership, the Medical Staff, professional groups and the community at large
• Excellent organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, plan and execute
• Ability to think strategically and innovatively
• Ability to gather, interpret and utilize data to think strategically and analytically to improve outcomes
• Ability to manage financial budgets and business plans
• Ability to develop improvement plans and implement improvement plans
• Demonstrates knowledge of the process of change and ability to implement and adapt to change
• High degree of professionalism
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Master’s Degree from a college or university of recognized standing in business or health care related field strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in health care related field of study. 
• Five to seven years of experience in healthcare operations, recruitment, and/or HR, with strong physician recruitment experience within a healthcare setting preferred
• Five to seven years of progressive supervisory leadership experience in health care field
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred

Pay Range:

$127,850.69 - $191,776.04

If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
