Our Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Quality Technician position located in the Franklin, IN facility.  As a Quality Technician, this position will support a variety of quality functions related to Lean deployment, gathering & reporting data and measuring performance
 

Job Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

  • Primary responsibility for the gauge calibration system
  • Use Gauging software to maintain accurate records of calibrations.
  • Assist employees with quality related problems and resolution.
  • Work safely at all times.  Comply with safety regulations regarding the use of protective equipment or devices.
  • Keep work area, equipment, storage area, etc. clean and orderly at all times.
  • Offer suggestions relative to improving work process, procedures, productivity, job safety or work environment.
  • Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as directed by Manager or other designated personnel.
  • Assist in testing, ordering gauges and keeping up to date files.
  • Must perform as a team member with the willingness and attitude to work with others to resolve problems.  Must also maintain a good working relationship with others within the organization.
  • Perform technical support for all functional departments
  • Documents relevant standards & standard work.
  • Follows standard processes to conduct activities.
  • Complete reports on a timely basis.
  • Maintain all records by filing daily.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Experience with gauging (Go-no-Go gages, length gages, diameter gauges, micrometers)
  • Experience with engines/engine components and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with ASTM standards regarding gauge calibration requirements.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Capable of working alone or with limited supervision
  • Recognizes, clarifies, and prioritizes concerns.
  • Previous experience in quality control or manufacturing.
  • Experience reading & interpreting measuring and masters.
  • Knowledge of testing equipment such as leak tester & dyno.
  • Degree or taking classes towards degree.
  • Microsoft office / computer skills / Gauging software
  • Knowledge of CQMS quality requirements or ISO 9000.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025.
  • Well organized, detail orientated.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work as a team
  • Willingness to bring quality concerns to the attention of the Operators, Team Leads, and Supervision.

Compensation & Benefits Offered!

Starting hourly pay rate of $22.60 (pay negotiations based on skills/experience)

Work Hours: 5AM - 3:30PM; Monday - Thursday

40-hour work weeks with potential for overtime

80 hours of vacation with an additional 24 hours of paid Personal Time Off (PTO)

10 Paid holidays

100% 401k match up to 6% offered on day 1 of employment

Health, dental, vision, & life insurance offered on day 1 of employment
