Senior Software Engineer

Job Description

Participate in designing and developing platform solutions to improve the lives of millions worldwide, contributing as a high-value member of a world-class R&D organization. Work with talented R&D teams at Philips in Shanghai/Suzhou and globally.

You are responsible for

• Design high-level systems/modules and their interfaces.
• Ensure up-to-date documentation of the architecture, modules, and implementations.
• Deliver optimal and consolidated architectures and module designs.
• Share responsibility for code reviews, code quality, and technical design.
• Collaborate with the Scrum team to finalize user-story designs and ensure alignment with overall architecture.
• Guide and coach the development team on design activities.
• Analyze platform software system requirements and implement solutions.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• Over 5 years of software development experience.
• 3 years of experience in the medical device industry preferred

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience developing for Kubernetes, such as Kubernetes controllers.
• Rich experience on Linux programming development ​
• Proficient in Go (Golang) and/or Python.
• Familiarity with common Kubernetes components such as Prometheus and OpenTelemetry.
• Experience with KubeVirt or related virtualization technologies.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and easy-to-understand code.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Ability to work independently and complete module development with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with GitHub/GitLab and building automation workflows based on these platforms.

Skills:

• Demonstrated experience of working with cross-functional teams to drive the output
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills while communicating in both English and Chinese
• Good communication skills
• Good leadership, integration and influence skills
