Job Description

Peterson Trucks has the immediate need for an experienced Front Counter/Back Counter Parts Sales person at our San Leandro, CA location.

SUMMARY

The Front Counter/Back Counter Parts Sales will have responsibility for monitoring and providing sales coverage and support to Peterson Trucks’ retail customers. Contact will be made through both direct and indirect channels. The Front Counter/Back Counter Parts Sales will be responsible for parts sales coverage by generating parts sales to walk-in, call-in, and outbound calls for customers sales. Additionally, the Front Counter/Back Counter Parts Sales is to work with the sales team (management and sales reps) to grow existing customer accounts, facilitate lead generation, and qualify leads generated through other indirect channels.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Make a minimum of 25 outbound phone contacts per week.
  • Responds to the needs of walk-in customers to achieve sales volume goals.
  • Partners with Marketing, Product Support Sales Representative, and Sales Representatives to identify interested and qualified customers.
  • Contacts prospective customers to determine customer needs, present product information, and explain available specials and services. Provides information brochures and other literature to inform customers and influence buying decisions.
  • Evaluates leads, effectively and efficiently, and determines whether to respond or pass the lead to sales resources management for assignment.
  • Follows all sales processes and procedures.
  • Partners with management to ensure marketing campaigns are directed to the right opportunities for retail customers.
  • Assists with customer surveys as needed.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.

  • Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with customers/ coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and a minimum of one year of experience in sales, preferably in a heavy industrial environment; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

May occasionally drive company or personal vehicle for work errands, and such possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

The pay rate for this position is: $30.63-$35.00 with opportunities for added commission. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
