About You and This Role
Dow is seeking Site Logistics Technicians to support the Arab, AL facility by managing inbound and outbound shipments of packaged products, samples, equipment, and other materials. In this role, you will work closely with Logistics, Operations, Customer Service, service providers, and other partners to receive, ship, and track materials accurately, maintain shipment and office records, manage inventory, and support overall site logistics operations. You will also help ensure safe, efficient material handling and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
This position involves performing routine logistics and plant support activities with limited supervision, using established procedures and basic technical or administrative skills. Responsibilities may include monitoring equipment or conditions, supporting the movement and storage of raw materials and finished goods, completing data entry and coordination tasks, and selecting from standard solutions to resolve straightforward issues. Success in this role requires attention to detail, accountability for your assigned workload, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members while following approved processes and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Follow established operating procedures and safety standards to ensure safe and efficient material handling.
- Generate inbound and outbound shipment reports, including daily or weekly delivery and packaged goods reports.
- Retrieve shipping and receiving paperwork, process goods receipts and outbound shipments in SAP, and maintain accurate records.
- Manage inventory-related activities such as cycle counts, tank return processes, and tracking material movement.
- Notify recipients of incoming material, coordinate parcel and shipment delivery, and place materials in designated areas.
- Operate a forklift/fork truck.
- Communicate with Supply Chain, Customer Service, RXO, and other partners regarding missing, delayed, changed, or uncollected shipments.
- Prepare hazardous, non-hazardous, and miscellaneous materials for shipment using approved shipping systems and processes, including FedEx where applicable.
- Assist with routine administrative duties, participate in root cause investigations for unplanned events or failures, and perform daily housekeeping activities in accordance with Dow policy.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Must be capable of interfacing with a computer to input data.
- Must be able to operate a forklift.
- Attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, overtime, holidays, nights and weekends as required.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Physical Requirements
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as respirators, protective clothing, face masks, goggles, boots, etc. The respirator will require a clean-shaven face.
- Lift (up to 50lbs), push, and pull.
- Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.
- Work in tight and enclosed spaces.
- No known sensitivity to chemicals.
- This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground. Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience using SAP.
- Previous Logistical Clerk experience in industrial environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse management operations and systems.

- Attention to Detail: Accurately processes inbound and outbound shipments, manages documentation, and ensures data integrity in systems like SAP.
- Team Collaboration: Works closely with Logistics, Operations, Customer Service, and fellow clerks to maintain smooth workflows and build positive team chemistry.
- Process & Equipment Monitoring: Supports plant operations by conducting field checks, adjusting control systems, and ensuring safe and efficient handling of materials.
- Administrative Competence: Handles inventory, archives shipment records, prepares reports, and performs routine administrative tasks with minimal supervision.
- Physical & Safety Readiness: Meets physical demands such as lifting, climbing, and working at heights while adhering to safety protocols and PPE requirements.
