General Description: 

 

The Executive Director, Brand and Reputation will serve as the leader of the newly established Brand and Reputation Communications team, overseeing efforts to elevate BeOne’s corporate brand and reputation, increase trust among stakeholders, and enhance the company’s reputation worldwide. This role is accountable for driving global corporate visibility and strengthening corporate, thought leadership, and product and pipeline performance by leveraging strategic, data-driven, multichannel communications (earned, paid, owned). The Executive Director will play a critical role in advancing BeOne’s global objectives through proactive media relations and robust crisis and issues management preparedness. 

 

This position has oversight of the Corporate Communications, Global Product and Pipeline Communications, and Media Relations resources, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach to all corporate brand and reputation programming. As a strategic leader, the Executive Director will be responsible for setting the overall vision and direction for the team, while also being actively involved in the execution of key initiatives. The role requires a hands-on approach to fostering collaboration across various departments, championing innovation, and continuously enhancing BeOne’s reputation on a global scale. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Corporate Communications/Corporate Affairs, the Executive Director will also serve as an active member of the Leadership Team, contributing to high-level strategy and decision-making processes. This position is ideal for a dynamic communications professional with a passion for building brand equity, managing complex reputational challenges, and delivering measurable impact through integrated, measurable strategies. 

 

Essential Functions of the Job:  

  • Enterprise Mindset: Bring a mindset that is focused on operating beyond functional silos to advance the company’s total institutional value, including reputation, license to operate, strategic freedom, and long-term growth, across markets and stakeholders.  

  • Global Brand Elevation: Lead the Corporate Brand and Reputation Communications team in developing and executing strategies that enhance BeOne’s global profile and strengthen stakeholder trust, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic objectives. 

  • Integrated Communications Management: Oversee BeOne’s Corporate Communications, Global Product and Pipeline Communications, and Media Relations teams, ensuring a cohesive and integrated approach that maximizes impact and visibility across all communications efforts. 

  • Data-Driven Strategies: Utilize strategic, data-driven, and technology-enabled communications to drive visibility and improve product and pipeline performance, leveraging insights to inform and refine communication initiatives. 

  • Crisis and Issues Management: Support the development of robust preparedness plans for crisis and issues management, ensuring the organization is ready to respond effectively to reputational challenges and mitigate risks. 

  • Collaboration and Innovation: Foster collaboration across departments, champion innovative communication approaches, and engage team members in executing key initiatives that advance BeOne’s reputation globally. 

  • High-Level Strategic Contribution: Serve as an active member of the Leadership Team, contributing to high-level strategy and decision-making processes while ensuring that communications priorities align with organizational goals. 

  • Data Insights and Analytics: Establish innovative leading and lagging KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of communication efforts, continuously analyzing results to drive improvements and demonstrate measurable impact. 

 

Required Qualifications:  

  • Experience: 15+ years of experience in corporate communications, with a strong background in the healthcare or biotech sectors; 5+ years in a leadership role. 

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities. 

  • Strong understanding of media dynamics and relationships. 

  • Proven track record in managing communications teams during high-pressure and high-visibility situations. 

  • Proven track record in managing global agencies and budgets 

  • Proven execution of global, reputation-enhancing campaigns with an enterprise mindset  

  • Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on execution, functioning effectively as a player/coach. 

  • Leadership Competencies: Strong leadership, project management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. 

  • Agility and Adaptability: Demonstrated capacity to thrive in a global, fast-paced, changing environment, managing multiple priorities effectively. 

  

Supervisory Responsibilities:   

  • Lead a team of strong communications leaders 

 

Travel:  20%

Salary Range: $257,400.00 - $337,400.00 annually

BeOne is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process.  Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
