The Sr Manager, Procurement Productivity & NPI Programs independently leads large-scale, complex, cross-functional programs focused on Productivity savings delivery and New Product Introduction (NPI) execution across a global, matrixed organization.
Operating with minimal supervision, this role functions as a senior internal consultant and program leader, accountable for translating enterprise and business strategies into executable, value-generating initiatives. The role oversees a portfolio of high-impact programs, with a direct reporting structure, and mobilizes broad, cross-functional teams across Procurement, Operations, Finance, R&D, Quality, and Commercial partners.
Success in this role requires exceptional project management discipline, stakeholder influence, and change leadership, with Procurement expertise serving as an enabling capability rather than the primary focus.
Scale of Responsibilities
- Owns and leads a portfolio of complex, multi-year Productivity and NPI programs with significant financial, operational, and strategic impact
- Defines program scope, deliverables, governance structures, and success metrics across multiple business units and regions
- Acts as the primary integrator across functions, aligning diverse stakeholder priorities to deliver committed value
- Leads program planning, business case development, financial modeling, resource planning, and execution governance
- Oversees end-to-end delivery from ideation through implementation, benefits realization, and sustainability tracking
- Drives executive alignment through structured updates, decision forums, and escalation management
- Ensures strong linkage between Productivity pipelines, NPI roadmaps, and AOP commitments
- Leads risk identification, mitigation planning, and scenario analysis across complex initiatives
- Oversees portfolio reporting, value tracking, and adoption of standardized tools and methodologies
Technical Responsibilities
- Applies best-in-class project and program management methodologies to ensure disciplined execution (scope, schedule, cost, risk, dependencies)
- Leads integrated master plans for Productivity and NPI initiatives, including timelines, milestones, resources, and financial targets
- Establishes and runs robust governance cadences (project update forums, steering committees, executive reviews)
- Tracks plan vs. actual performance; identifies variances and drives corrective actions
- Facilitates issue resolution across functions to address execution, resourcing, or decision bottlenecks
- Drives standardized reporting, dashboards, and performance visibility across the portfolio
- Ensures documentation rigor, version control, and audit-ready repositories
- Leverages enterprise systems and continuous improvement frameworks (e.g., PPI) to enhance execution effectiveness
Leadership Responsibilities
- Leads and develops a team, providing clear direction, coaching, and performance management
- Builds strong, trust-based relationships with senior leaders and functional partners across the enterprise
- Influences without authority to drive alignment, commitment, and timely decision-making
- Acts as a change leader, enabling adoption of new ways of working across Procurement and cross-functional teams
- Fosters a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement
- Develops succession capability and talent pipelines within the team
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field required
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred
- Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent) strongly preferred
Experience
- 10+ years of experience leading complex, global programs or portfolios, preferably within Procurement, Operations, or Supply Chain environments
- Proven experience delivering large-scale Productivity, cost transformation, or NPI programs
- Demonstrated success operating in highly matrixed, global organizations
- Experience leading and developing teams, including direct people management
- Life Sciences, Biotech, Pharma, or regulated industry experience preferred
- Experience with low cost sourcing and supplier quality assessment.

- Able to lead change effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
- Capable of managing multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously
- Willingness to travel approximately 10–30% annually
