Job Summary:


Provides direct service to the hospital by coordinating and implementing the activities of the Department of Volunteer Services. This includes volunteer recruitment, training, placement, compliance and coaching, program development and fundraising activities. Reports to the Manager of Volunteer Services.


Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:


Recruit, train and place new volunteers (Cobb Medical Center and Vinings Health Park)
* Process application
* Interview/background checks
* Orientation
* Placement
* Work with departments to keep volunteers in place
Maintain records and ensure compliance to adhere to The Joint Commission Standards
* GAMES, Confidentiality Statement and TB Test compliance
* Keep database up-to-date and maintain email distribution list
* Counseling
* Keep hours up-to-date in both the database and Kronos
* Volunteer rounding
Oversee fundraisers (Cobb and VHP)
* Vendor Sales: Schedule rooms, set dates, obtain vendors, coordinate with volunteers for sales at all sites
* ARBAPRO: Oversee updates and bi-weekly payroll reports
* Payroll Deductions: Coordinate payroll reports to volunteer treasurer(s) and payroll department
Special Projects
* WellStar Liaison for Mended Hearts, Brain Injury Group, Happy Tails and Womens Health and Specialty Services
* VolunTeen Program
Maintain Department Policies and Procedures
* Keeps volunteers updated on new policies and procedures
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.


Required Minimum Education:


College Preferred

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):


All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

    Required Minimum Experience:


    Minimum 3 years of experience in program development, administration, event coordination, and community volunteers. Required and
    Community relations/service organization Required


    Required Minimum Skills:


    Public speaking, computer knowledge, management and leadership abilities.
