The main purpose of this position is to provide administrative and clerical support to the employment functions of the Human Resources Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as switchboard operator for incoming calls to Werner that are not routed through the auto attendant option.
  • Provide clerical support to the Human Resources staff as needed including but not limited to distributing mail, assisting with invoices, tracking use of various HR programs, providing reports as needed, and other special projects.
  • Maintain the HR Department Intranet Site and various HR email boxes.
  • Maintain the Employee Service Award Program.
  • Process Anniversary letters on a monthly basis.
  • Serve as the department contact for name plate orders, baby gifts, and floral orders.
  • Order and maintain general office supplies for the HR Department.
  • Assist with various events including but not limited to the Company picnic, Truck or Treat, Santa Night, United Way, Family Fun Day, and Company Update Meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.


Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent experience.
  • One to two years administrative and clerical experience with confidential information.
  • Six months to one year customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner when answering phones and during face-to-face communication.
  • Knowledge of office functions and ability to maintain confidentiality in all Human Resources related matters.
  • Skill in operating a multi-line telephone, fax machine, and copy machine.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Skill in typing with a minimum of 50-60 wpm.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
