The Role & What You Will Be Doing 

Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Head of Finance role will make an impact: 

  • The Head of Finance will be the cluster expert for finance and accounting issues across Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, and Kosovo. This position will be located from our Zagreb office in Croatia and will sit on the Leadership team.
  • Coordinate finance team activities across the cluster. Lead, supervise, and develop team members to ensure that the organization’s demand and supply activities are conducted accurately, ethically, consistently and according to expectations.
  • Administer and control all financial-related activities for Affiliate, including all entity assets (cash, accounts receivables, fixed assets) and liabilities (taxes, payroll, office expenses) ensuring that entity maintains unqualified opinions from both external and internal auditors.
  • Develop and lead Affiliate Finance Department, to effectively support corporate strategy and marketing and sales plans. Conduct financial assessment of marketing opportunities to facilitate sustainable business growth and to assist management in strategic and operational decisions.
  • Provide financial information service for marketing/commercial functions.
  • Coordinate and manage the Plan / Update / LBE process in a timely and accurate manner and ensure timely, compliant and high-quality reporting submissions.
  • Design, implement and maintain adherence to local financial and accounting procedures in accordance with local law and corporate policies. Establish and maintain Affiliate financial processes and procedures.
  • Ensure proper handling of compliance and business control issues.
  • Ensure Affiliate compliance with local legislation, guidelines and standards, and corporate policies, processes and procedures, including the Code of Business Conduct. Cooperate, liaise with and report to local authorities.
  • Ensure training of Affiliate staff on relevant financial issues
  • Review and approve expenditures and payments and supervise and sign-off tax submissions.
  • Provide education and training in connection with finance to affiliates and internal customers and act as an internal advisor on finance issues

About Your Skills & Experience 

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences: 

           

  • University degree ( Economics/Finance)
  • Experience (at least 3 years) in a managerial position in finance
  • Knowledge of local financial and tax environment and local accounting standards
  • Knowledge of the local and global pharmaceutical business
  • Good verbal and written knowledge of Croatian and English
  • Fluent English - speaking and writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of accounting and US GAAP standards
  • Financial, legal and negotiating skills
  • Strong customer focus
  • Self-motivated, disciplined
  • Excellent listening, communication and networking skills (team-player)
  • Sound judgment, strong planning, organizational and negotiating skills.
  • Sense of urgency and prioritization
  • Adaptable to a changing environment and willing to assess and implement new ideas and opportunities
