Job Description

The Occupational Health Nurse will promote employee physical and emotional health by reinforcing the relationship between good health, productivity, safe work practices and the achievement of Remington's business goals.

This position reports to the Safety, Health & Security Manager and will work out of our Lonoke, AR production facility, supporting a manufacturing environment.

As the Occupational Health Nurse, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Providing medical aid to employees and other personnel who become ill or are injured.
  • Conducting Medical Surveillance per Occupational Health Program requirements (drug & alcohol screens, vision screens, audiometry evaluations, pulmonary function testing, respirator fit testing, blood lead evaluations and other physical examinations as required by job positions.
  • Performs the handling of Worker's Compensation cases/claims, and coordination with outside medical facilities as required.
  • Responds to the scene of medical emergencies when appropriate to coordinate medical care with Fire Brigade personnel.
  • Would act as back up Triage Coordinator for Lead Occupational Health Nurse during large scale emergencies.
  • Provides medical recommendations to management along with Worker's Compensation medical packets when they transport their personnel to a medical facility.
  • Prepares initial injury reports and sends to appropriate members of management and the EHS team. Maintains medical records of all personnel treated.


You have:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing and have an RN or LPN License
  • 1 year occupational health experience. Certification in Occupational Nursing, work in trauma environment (ER, EMS) in combination with work performed in manufacturing field may be considered in lieu of occupational health experience.
  • Experience using audiometry, spirometry, EKG, vision and other testing equipment.
  • Phlebotomy experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to speak in front of large groups.
  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook. Ability to learn new computer programs as needed.
  • First-Aid, CPR and AED Certifications

You Might Have:

  • Experience with worker's compensation and OSHA recordkeeping would be helpful, but not required.
  • BLS certification preferred. Ability to teach others CPR, First-Aid and AED


 

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range:

Hourly Rate: $26.54 - $37.16

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
