Summary:
In this role, you will lead the business development vision, strategy, plans, and processes to drive sales in consulting and technology, while also expanding the range of services offered. You will be tasked with identifying and assessing new markets, partners, channels, and customers. Additionally, you will effectively manage team members in the Indirect Spend department across various functional areas to deliver value to members. This role also involves overseeing and growing a substantial book of business, including the expansion of consulting services, implementation of technology solutions, and the enlargement of the portfolio within specific categories.
Responsibilities:
Research and analyze competitors and customers to develop ideas for new products and services, pricing, and business models.
Direct and lead the development of proposals, sales models, and presentations to customers.
Collaborate with marketing, sales, product development, engineering, and other stakeholders to support business development plans and strategies.
Maintain customer contact and communication related to Indirect Spend offerings and Indirect Spend Management technologies.
Manage and oversee the relationship with 3rd party development partners, including profit and loss (P&L) responsibility for the Indirect Spend Management technologies.
Own supplier relationships and direct supplier strategy related to the Indirect spend Management technologies.
Provide input into functional strategy and manage cross-functional strategies. Focus to include but not limited to:
* Kaufman Hall indirect spend relationship and synergies.
* Inorganic opportunity growth identification and management.
* Collaboration with Corporate Strategy teams.
Oversee and facilitate strategy activities including refinement of business cases and investment requests related to Indirect Spend strategy. Additionally, navigate corporate strategy dependencies within and across Pillars.
Provide regular updates to the Decision Review Team (DRT) and Business Operations Leadership Team (BOLT) on progress in collaboration with the Strategy team.
Drive revenue growth in accounts where there has been little to no penetration of Vizient offerings (green space).
Be accountable for overall sales performance in non-managed accounts, the profitable achievement of sales goals, and for aligning sales objectives with firm business strategy.
Create and deliver high-quality, persuasive sales presentations to C-level and other executives.
Develop an industry presence through strategic conference attendance and participation.
Identify new prospects and develop meaningful relationships with Vizient’s most strategic accounts.
Build and maintain strong, lasting trusted advisor relationships with prospective client C-level executives by listening, asking questions, delivering insights, and driving commitment.
Create processes to thoroughly evaluate decision-making on various deal structures to ensure the delivery of the right model to the right health system.
Qualifications:
Relevant degree preferred. Master’s degree desired.
15 or more years of relevant experience required. Healthcare industry experience with previous leadership and supervisory experience is required. Services and/or consulting experience is required.
Knowledge of Purchased Services technology, data, and benchmarks is required.
Proven success in developing winning teams and managing a significant P&L.
Results-oriented with a track record of driving revenue growth and achieving sales goals. Experience needed in lead development and cultivating new prospects.
Must possess strong negotiation and influencing skills.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, earning their trust and becoming a trusted advisor
Experience managing relationships with third-party partners and suppliers.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver persuasive sales presentations to C-level executives.
Effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Experience working across the enterprise, continuously connecting people and initiatives to drive results for members and Vizient needed.
Strategic mindset with the ability to contribute to functional and cross-functional strategies.
Ability to travel regularly and expeditiously throughout the year to meet clients’ needs and timetables.
