Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team at Walmart.

As Software Engineer III at Walmart, you will be responsible for the development of various back-end applications that support Walmart’s digital customers.

What you’ll do:

  • Design, prototype, and build technology-driven products and experiences.
  • Demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of software engineering technologies and apply this to the development lifecycle for Wal-Mart’s CRM software.
  • Implement solutions that will help walmart.com shoppers using knowledge of Java/J2EE and data structures.
  • Work on the engineering design, development, unit testing, integration testing, release activities, and production support of Walmart.com applications. Build backend services using technologies including Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, JDBC, REST Services, Apache CXF, Apache Camel, Apache Maven, Kafka, Cloud based application development, TestNg, Mockito, SOA, and GitHub.
  • Build robust, scalable and maintainable applications. Build, deploy, and conduct continuous integration of processes to move software code and configurations from local development environments to QA and Production environments.
  • Provide technical support for any production issues where engineering help is required. Provide technical support for troubleshooting and investigations pertaining to the supply chain software systems.
  • Follow/lead team standards for engineering excellence and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with other peers and teams to deliver feature enhancements.

What you’ll bring:

  • 3 + years of Strong development experience in Java.
  •  Experience designing and implementing REST API web services using Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and Spring MVC.
  • Experience writing unit test cases for code verification and code coverage using JUnit and Mockito.
  • Experience deploying applications to the server using CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins.
  • Experience designing and testing RDBMS and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience designing scalable microservices.  
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting packets and HTTP/S traffic using Wireshark and Charles.
  • Experience providing release support and monitoring system health using Kubernetes.
  • Experience monitoring logs and errors for troubleshooting using Splunk. Experience documenting and maintaining Confluence pages.
  • Experience maintaining a producer-consumer architecture with Apache Kafka.
  • Experience maintaining code using Git and GitHub.
  • Experience publishing and managing dependencies using Maven.
  • Experience with public cloud technologies such as Azure OR Google Cloud Platform.  
  • Strong knowledge of complex software design, distributed system design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.  
  • Excellent technical debugging and production support skills.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00
