IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a Director, Account Management to join our growing team in Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate understands the K-12 landscape and has experience in educational technology SaaS renewal sales, expansion of those sales and account management. You lead with vision and purpose, effectively manage change, and provide direct and actionable feedback to others. You will empower and support a team of managers, leads, and account managers, developing and leading initiatives aimed at propelling growth in our product user base made up of K-12 students, maximizing retention of those students, while strengthening adoption within schools and districts. You will work with the Vice President of Customer Success to develop long term vision for the team as well as develop and lead our customer engagement strategies, including onboarding, implementation and customer health checks, that result in retention and expansion, while exceeding renewal sales targets.  #LI-TL2

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Manage and motivate a team of high-performing managers, leads and account managers 
  • Mentor and coach this team to achieve high levels of performance and professional development 
  • Own the ultimate success of our customers, including implementation, product adoption, retention, renewal and expansion 
  • Work closely with sales leadership on renewal and expansion strategies within current districts to drive territory growth 
  • Develop strategies, tactics and an operational plan for the team to achieve targeted goals 
  • Serve as a customer advocate while effectively collaborating with internal, cross-functional teams including account services, sales management, professional services, marketing, and product management 
  • Exceed renewal and expansion sales goals on a consistent basis 
  • Refine and continuously improve an end-to-end view of the customer journey 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • BA/BS degree required 
  • Minimum of 10 years educational/sales/account management experience (customer facing roles), including a minimum of 5 years sales/account management leadership experience
  • 5+ years in a management role, managing a multi-layered team  
  • Committed to work full-time in the Raleigh, NC IXL Learning office (5 days/week). This is not a remote position 
  • Educational technology, classroom, educational sales, or related educational experience highly preferred 
  • Well organized, analytical, self-motivated and able to inspire and lead a high performing team while handling IXL Learning’s rapid growth
  • Demonstrated success at managing multiple tasks and changes in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent ability to drive resolution of customer escalations, contract negotiations, and at-risk account mitigation 
  • Aptitude for understanding a technical product and technical needs of customers; comfortable with technology and passionate about bringing technology into the classroom
