We are searching for the best talent for the Manufacturing Supervisor to be based in Leiden.

You’ll lead and support a hands-on Operations team responsible for safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing. This role focuses on meeting production targets, coordinating daily workflows, and ensuring team performance and quality outcomes. You’ll be a primary point of contact for the team and help translate operational plans into reliable results!

As a Manufacturing Supervisor, you will:

  • Lead and coach individual contributors to achieve production targets and maintain consistent team performance.

  • Coordinate workflows and assignments across the Operations unit to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant outputs.

  • Ensure a safe, compliant workplace by proactively identifying risks, following up on improvements, and enforcing SOPs and GMP.

  • Drive continuous improvement through root-cause problem solving, Tier 1 management, Gemba walks, and spot checks to boost safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Own administrative and operational documentation—complete required training, record day-to-day activities, escalate issues, and support accurate reporting.

  • Collaborate with leaders and peers to staff, develop, and mentor team members while promoting an inclusive team culture.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • MBO-4 diploma (HBO-assessed thinking level) with one of: relevant MBO-4 + ≥5 years’ relevant experience; non-relevant MBO-4 + ≥7 years’ relevant experience; or MBO-4 + ≥3 years’ people-leader experience.

  • Demonstrated people leadership: coaching, performance management, and staffing to meet team goals.

  • Working knowledge of standard operating procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) with experience ensuring compliance.

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office and entry-level data analysis skills.

  • Strong problem-solving, calm decision-making, effective leadership change, and ability to work on a shift roster while supporting team morale and inclusion.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 53,500 to 85.445 on an annual basis and includes 8% holiday allowance.

At Johnson & Johnson, we want every candidate to feel supported throughout the hiring process. Our goal is to make the experience clear, fair, and respectful of your time.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Application review: We’ll carefully review your CV to see how your skills and experience align with the role.

  • Getting to know you: If there’s a good match, you’ll be invited to a short call with one of our recruitment team to understand more about you and answer any questions that you might have.

  • Staying informed: We know waiting can be hard and processes can evolve; our recruitment team will keep you updated and make sure you know what to expect at each step.

  • Final steps: For successful candidates, you will need to complete country-specific checks before starting your new role. We will help guide you through these.

Finally, at the end of the process, we’ll invite you to share feedback in a short survey — your input helps us continue improving the experience for future candidates. Thank you for considering a career with Johnson & Johnson. We’re excited to learn more about you and wish you the best of luck in the process! #RPOEMEA  #LI_Onsite
