Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a highly qualified Principal Project Manager to join our diverse team in support of the Site Management and Strategy mission within the Strategic Deterrent Systems (SDS) Division. This position will be based in Roy, UT. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You’ll Get To Do:
A central responsibility of this role is to ensure adherence to safety protocols during project execution. Security is crucial, especially in environments with stringent measures to protect personnel and sensitive information. The Project Manager must possess a strong understanding of organizational security policies and serve as a liaison among various teams to incorporate security standards into project plans. Regular audits of processes and procedures are essential to ensure compliance and evaluate the efficacy of current practices.
The Principal Project Manager will prepare and submit detailed reports to management, offering insights into project execution, training outcomes, and areas for improvement. These audits will aid in identifying gaps and opportunities to enhance safety and security protocols, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage the operational aspects of projects, ensuring effective communication among project management, teams, and upper management.
Review project statuses and budgets, manage schedules, and prepare comprehensive reports.
Assess project-related issues, developing strategies to achieve safety, quality, and client satisfaction objectives.
Monitor project progress and facilitate problem-solving in collaboration with project and line managers.
Contribute to the development of new standards and innovative practices within safety and security initiatives.
Clearly communicate project findings and safety recommendations to all stakeholders.
Design and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance emergency preparedness throughout the organization.
Organize regular drills and training refreshers to reinforce evacuation procedures and safety protocols.
Ensure that all safety and evacuation plans are effectively communicated and understood by employees at all levels.
Maintain accurate records of training, drills, and incident reports for auditing and continuous improvement.
Stay informed about industry best practices and regulatory requirements to enhance safety and emergency management.
Collaborate with management to review and improve existing safety protocols and training, based on feedback and compliance updates.
This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with at least 1 year of experience. In lieu of formal degree, 4 additional years of relevant experience may be considered.
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Experience in Project Management.
Proven success in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP Certification.
Exceptional analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience with establishing Strategy, Roadmap, Vision artifacts.
Experience working within a multi-team environment.
Ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
Skilled use of Microsoft Office Products (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project).
Ability to leverage experience/background to bring alternative ideas/solutions to the team.
Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and to develop and implement more efficient and enhanced programs.
