FreeWheel helps the television industry to monetize their premium contents through a robust
technology platform, which enables consumers to view high quality videos on any devices including PC, smart phone, OTT device, set-top box and traditional TV.
FreeWheel’s New York Engineering Hub is a core part of our global engineering group that is building the one-stop solution for TV industry to manage its billion-dollar revenue. Our tech platform is capable of handling billions of daily requests, processing terabytes of raw daily data, and optimizing clients’ business.
Role Description
FreeWheel's TV Platform ("MRM") is a global technology platform that empowers premium video ad monetization. Through this self-service, enterprise SaaS platform, sellers can efficiently monetize their video inventory by utilizing multiple demand channels, including direct sold, programmatic, and marketplace deals. FreeWheel's TV Platform provides capabilities across a "pitch-to-pay" workflow that covers the steps enabling an advertising campaign across planning, optimization, delivery, and reporting. Access to these functionalities are available to client systems through a robust set of APIs as well as through user interface (UI) screens.
Our clients are primarily large media content publishers and distributors, such as, ViacomCBS, NBCU, WBD, A+E, etc. We support them to monetize their premium video space through different sales channels. In addition, our clients also leverage MRM to support their big live events, such as, Super Bowl, Olympic Games, March Madness, etc. We generate revenue through a mixture of platform subscription fees, variable ad serving fees, and revenue share structures.
What are some interesting problems the student will work on?
In your role, You will get familiar with how Freewheel bridges publishers and advertisers/3rd party DSPs and co-work with the team to figure out the tech solutions to meet sellers and buyers’ needs and improve the efficiency and ROI of the entire trading chain.
Where can this student make an impact?
You’ll be working with Freewheel global Eng team to reduce the trading friction when sellers and buyers are making deals on our platform. It’s essential for us to improve customer stickiness and enlarge the general liquidity on our platform.

This role is expected to understand the problem by taking assigned basic trainings and doing self-pacing learning/research around the related code/documents (internal or external)
This role is expected to explore more than 1 possible solutions, evaluate them and choose a final solution to pursue.
This role is expected to design, implement, test the solution. If applicable, monitor and alert of the solution is also expected.
This role is expected to join the engineer team's daily standup.
Preferred Skills
Experience with C/C++ and network programming.
Experience with Cloud, containerization and other related technologies.
Strong passion of learning/practicing new technics.
Preferred Majors: Computer Science related Majors
Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2025- Spring 2027)
Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating)
Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025
Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)

Base Pay: $40.00Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
