Job Summary

The Team Leader leads a team of colleagues and supports the operational relationship between team members and customers. This role ensures team coaching, recruitment, inductions, ongoing training and development and appropriate and timely staffing of projects.

The Team Leader shows awareness of the customer perspective and creates a productive, positive, collaborative, supportive and motivating working environment, and works with the team to ensure outstanding quality and customer satisfaction standards are achieved.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure projects are delivered with maximum and accurate revenue with effort compensated by value
  • Ensure that Meetings Systems are kept fully updated
  • Supports the management in monitoring the overall cost-effectiveness of the team
  • Assigns meeting requests and projects to the team in order to achieve objectives
  • Approves team expenses and ensure all costs are charged back to the client projects
  • Ensure Meetings Systems are fully updated and correct and that meetings are reconciled, billed and closed within the SLA’s
  • Roll out and ensure full adoption of new technology, initiatives and processes for both client and GBT
  • Work together with Business Development, Global and Regional Account Managers where applicable
  • Leads customer retention and account expansion
  • Leads with customer account reviews if required
  • Has solid knowledge of customer portfolio as well as the individual agreements, expectations, SLAs, policies, compliance regulations and KPI´s
  • Encourages the performance of team members. Provides regular feedback: Balances recognition with constructive criticism and relates this to work performance and behaviour; acts proactively where improvements in work performance are required
  • Holds regular team and 1:1 meetings, providing coaching as required
  • Support interviewing and Onboard new team members and integrate into working teams
  • Encourages, supports and coaches team members to develop their own approaches to solving problems, and to implement these approaches with the aim of exceeding customer expectations
  • Balance operational portfolio with team leadership

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong experience in the meetings industry
  • Knowledge of meeting sourcing and planning as required by account portfolio
  • Strong ability to interact and engage client contacts at a meeting level and key contact level
  • Strong commitment to developing and delivering customer focused service
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, persuasive skills, decisiveness
  • Solid leadership and coaching skills
  • Experience in personnel selection/holding recruitment interviews
  • Ability to support change processes: personal willingness to embrace change in a dynamic working environment
  • Good personal organization and time management skills, capacity for continuous self-reflection
  • Willingness to travel, e.g. customer visits, on-sites, internal meetings
  • Ability to drive revenue and contribute significantly to revenue targets
  • Meetings industry technology experience
  • Confident product knowledge and experience of congress and meetings
  • Excellent oral and written communications skill and presentation abilities
  • Prior experience in effectively developing and handling multiple projects/demands
  • Culturally sensitive and embraces diversity
  • Fluent in oral and written business English
