Job Summary

Iron Mountain is seeking a skilled and experienced Head of Real Estate Procurement to join our Procurement team in UK or Netherlands.

In this role, you will be responsible for standing up a dedicated Real Estate Procurement capability to move from ad hoc support to a repeatable, value-capturing function across the company’s real estate cost stack.

You will lead the transition from a shared operating model with embedded providers toward greater Procurement ownership and commercial governance.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

In this role, you will:

  • Lead Function Transformation: Establish and lead a dedicated Real Estate Procurement capability, managing a team of five direct reports to transition from ad hoc support to a repeatable, value-capturing global function.

  • Drive Financial Impact: Deliver measurable financial results by identifying and capturing at least $1M in minimum value across the portfolio through EBITDA savings, OpEx reductions, and CapEx impact.

  • Execute Category Strategy: Oversee procurement for Facilities Management, Utilities, and Capital Construction, introducing competitive sourcing discipline and tighter commercial control on complex project scopes.

  • Enforce Commercial Governance: Implement robust governance by auditing pass-through spend from embedded providers (e.g., CBRE/JLL) and establishing transparent unit economics to drive business-wide margins.

  • Manage Stakeholders & Growth: Partner with GRE and GRO leadership to align real estate costs with enterprise productivity targets while building the credibility to expand into leasing and data center scopes by 2027.

What You'll Bring (Skills & Qualifications)

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Category Expertise: A proven record of accomplishment of driving measurable financial impact (minimum $1M+) within Facilities Management and Capital/Construction categories.

  • Technical & Sustainability Acumen: Strong commercial experience in utilities, energy management, and sustainability-oriented programs (e.g., LED/solar/wind) in large, technical environments.

  • Commercial Governance: The ability to challenge fee models, audit pass-through spend, and govern supplier behaviors within complex, embedded-service-provider models.

  • Strategic Stakeholder Management: Experience navigating shared operating models and building alignment with Global Real Estate (GRE) leaders and P&L owners.

  • Future-Ready Skillset: The commercial credibility to eventually activate and lead leasing, brokerage governance, and technical data center infrastructure initiatives.

What We Offer (Benefits):

  • Location: UK or Netherlands – 100% remote

  • Competitive compensation and benefits aligned with the experience.

  • Flexible work options to support work-life balance.

  • Comprehensive health, wellness, and retirement plans.

  • Opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth as you build this new global function.

Are you ready to architect a new era of Real Estate Procurement? We are not looking for someone to just manage a process; we need a builder to stand up a global function and own the commercial roadmap. If you have the grit to drive "millions" in value and the diplomacy to lead through change, apply today to join the Iron Mountain team!
