Our subsidiary, Integrated Circuit Testing GmbH (ICT GmbH), with ~160 employees, develops and produces electron microscopes, the heart of our machines, which monitor processes in semiconductor production and classify the smallest defects on wafers. To meet the rapidly increasing demand from our customers in the semiconductor industry, our location near Munich, Germany is constantly growing.

With a strong intension to expand our newly founded supplier performance engineering team in our facility near Munich, we are looking for experienced Field Support Engineer (m/f/d), with a strong background in manufacturing processes, to manage the technical domain of Applied Materials cutting-edge suppliers as part of the operation division.

You’re eager to;

  • be a part of highly qualified engineering team, to efficiently manage the manufacturing as well as technical domain of complex modules developed by our R&D team

  • collaborate with other engineers to ensure a prompt execution as well as efficient and smooth production

  • take a lead on driving our suppliers to excellence for enabling smooth manufacturing processes in our facility near Munich

Key Responsibilities :

  • Create technical documents for NPI columns

  • Monitoring, troubleshooting and corrective maintenance

  • Take part in FRU decisions and ensure FRU checklist is met

  • Drive FSS monitoring capabilities

  • Initiate productivity and cost reduction projects

  • Reduce monitoring and corrective maintenance effort (labor, cost of materials)

  • Training and certification –

  • Training strategy definition with AGSTS: take part in curriculum creation and maintenance

  • Create training material

  • Expert trainer

  • Escalation liaison

  • Connecting ICT to the field as tier 4 owner, like being part of the escalation flow

  • Column DFS – take part in column design reviews, understand service implication and work with GPS to resolve challenges

  • CIP – Failure Analysis control and loop closure owner

  • Own failure analysis effectivity and loop closure (corrective action), ECO’s control (for field aspects)

Skills & requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree or comparable education in electrical, mechanical engineering with minimum of 3 years of industry experience

  • Hands-on field experience in maintenance and operation

  • Have solid experience and knowledge in equipment design, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair as well as having wide knowledge in new technologies

  • In-depth knowledge of business standard specifications, codes, and standards, with knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods and design details is required

  • Fluency in English and German

  • Willingness to travel at least 50% of the time
