This role will have responsibility for global sourcing category relating to Travel and Meetings. This role is a great opportunity to become immersed in the Global Travel, Meetings and Events program working closely with varied vendors, stakeholders and cross-functional teams across the globe. This individual will operate as a key resource focusing on travel category, working with operations team to create category strategies and supplier relationship management. The role includes bringing best solutions via comprehensive sourcing activities. This position will report directly into Head of Sourcing of Travel, Expense, M&E and Payments.

Key Responsibilities:

This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include, but, not limited to:

  • Develop and implement a pipeline of TEMEPS category initiatives and opportunities (Savings / Productivity / Risk Management / Innovation) using external supply market / business intelligence, application of benchmarking methodologies and internal business partner knowledge.
  • Support creation and execution of comprehensive global sourcing activities for TEMEPS with expertise in Meetings and Meetings sub-categories (Agency Management, Congresses, Production, Audio Visual and Meeting Hotel Programs etc) with emphasis on supporting business priorities.
  • Develop financial and business analysis (e.g. Data mining of Procurement & Financial Systems, output analysis & interpretation), supporting market intelligence in the category area and acting as the focal point for category subject matter expertise to the regional business and procurement community
  • Run structured competitive bidding events with travel, expenses & meetings suppliers including spot buys, RFQs, reverse auctions and RFPs where necessary. Analyze results of competitive bidding events and make recommendations considering assurance of supply, quality, service, cost and innovation.
  • Significant external supplier knowledge to negotiate, execute and manage effective contracts that will allow GSK to manage risk and maximize opportunity globally.
  • Work with large and complex data sets to draw actionable insights to drive financial business benefits.
  • Proactively manage key external partners, internal stakeholders and business partners to support strategy development, endorse recommended strategies and execution alongside operations team.

Basic Qualifications
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 4+ years professional experience in travel and meeting program management with focus on category lead role.
  • 4+ years experience in travel & meetings solutions, vendors, and leading practices

Preferred Qualifications

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Establishes strong working relationships with vendors and stakeholders
  • Creatively and strategically problem-solves
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Procurement systems (ARIBA, SAP, etc.)
