Job Description:

At Regions, the Financial Division Executive plays a critical, strategic, and highly involved role as a member of the business units executive leadership team. This position has a dotted line to the Segment Heads and advises the leadership team on financial strategies to promote soundness, profitability, and growth, in that order.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Takes ownership of the balance sheet and P/L for both actuals (closeout), forecasting, budgeting, strategic planning, CCAR (Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review) and DFAST (Dodd-Frank Act Stress Tests) scenario planning
  • Develops a strong working relationship with both the bank and the overall corporation’s executive leadership team to be viewed as a “trusted advisor” and “business partner” 
  • Strengthens the organization’s financial analytical capability to assist management in understanding the key metrics for driving success (Customer and relationship profitability, loan and deposit pricing strategies, market-based performance, and peer competitiveness)
  • Provides strategic financial input and leadership on critical issues affecting the organization
  • Acts as strategic advisor and impartial partner to the business segment executive on financial impact of business decisions and strategy
  • Leads the annual and long-range business planning efforts including the selection of financial measurements to be used to evaluate performance
  • Achieves excellent results by leveraging the team, driving cross-organizational results, solving unprecedented/complex problems
  • Leads the team to deliver various finance functions including monthly financial forecasting, sales and management reporting, business case development, reconciliations, budget processes and ad-hoc strategic analyses
  • Drives the quarter-end financial close, earnings release, and conference calls with reporting, analysis, and presentation material for the board of directors and analyst meetings for executive leadership
  • Acts as advocate to/from the Chief Financial Officer on behalf of business unit and Regions Bank
  • Develops, grows, and leads a high-performing finance team
  • Partners with peer banks to keep abreast of industry practices 
  • Acts as strategic advisor and impartial partner to the business unit executive on financial impact of business decisions and strategy
  • Leads financial modeling efforts for potential acquisition targets, acts as finance expert on due diligence efforts and functions as key leader on integration planning and execution
  • Functions as a key contributor and leads the finance portion of regulatory exams, MRAs and any other issue that may arise from regulatory standpoint. Have interactions with regulators on certain matters
  • Leads Business Unit reviews with Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer
  • Ensures that incentive plans are aligned with the financial outcomes of the business
  • Functions as a key contributor to capital allocation process, expected loss, and FTP (Funds Transfer Pricing)

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.

This position is incentive eligible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or directly related field
  • Fifteen (15) years of directly related experience

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Compensation Details

Pay ranges are job specific and are provided as a point-of-market reference for compensation decisions. Other factors which directly impact pay for individual associates include: experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, job location and, most importantly, performance in the job role. As these factors vary by individuals, pay will also vary among individual associates within the same job.

The target information listed below is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range for where the position is located and level of the position.

Incentive Pay Plans:

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan. Employees are eligible to receive a discretionary award based on individual, business, and/or company performance.Opportunity to participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
