Job Description:

As an Insurance Software Engineer, you will participate in designing and implementing business solutions for our insurance and financial services clients. Leveraging your extensive experience in application programming, database design, and software development, you will deliver end-to-end solutions that align with client requirements. This position requires significant interaction with stakeholders, making strong communication and analytical skills essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and ensure successful project delivery.
    • Contribute to the execution of the software engineering strategy, aligning technology with business goals.
  • Design & Development:
    • Develop complex business logic using wmA, Mainframe, and .Net technologies.
    • Utilize OOP concepts and design patterns such as MVVM, MVC, and Singleton in software development.
  • Client & Stakeholder Interaction:
    • Engage with clients to gather requirements, propose solutions, and ensure successful implementation.
    • Perform root cause analysis and problem-solving to address client issues and enhance system performance.
  • System Architecture & Integration:
    • Design and implement system architecture for insurance business service frameworks, financial reporting systems, and automation processes.
    • Manage multiple client projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Automation & Efficiency:
    • Drive automation initiatives to eliminate manual processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
    • Develop automated solutions for financial reporting, tax form generation, and other critical business processes.
  • Agile Methodology:
    • Actively participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, story design, and backlog management.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (i.e., Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Typically, 7+ years of relevant work experience in industry, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role year of experience in software engineering.
  • Ability to manage software projects and resources effectively.
  • Proficiency in wmA, Mainframe, and .Net technologies.
  • Deep understanding of Life Insurance & Annuities, Auto & Home Insurance, and Tax 1099 processes.
  • Experience with financial services, banking, and insurance products like Whole Life, Term Life, and Annuities.

Work Environment:

  • Remote, within United States.

Compensation at DXC is influenced by an array of factors, including but not limited to the experience, job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. A reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position is $105,100 - $195,200.
