As a Growth Operator, you'll report directly to senior leadership and play a pivotal role in both closing new business and ensuring customer outcomes within healthcare. You'll work cross-functionally to turn opportunities into long-term wins, helping Fortune 500 healthcare clients—including major health systems, health IT vendors, payors, and pharma companies—realize the value of AI in their most critical workflows.
This role requires intellectual agility, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to operate in uncharted territory within the complex healthcare landscape. You'll need to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, adapt quickly to regulatory and operational nuances, and maintain clarity under pressure. The right candidate thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, bringing a mix of consulting discipline, product intuition, healthcare domain knowledge, and entrepreneurial drive.
Partner with Strategic Advisors, shaping proposals, guiding contracting processes (including healthcare-specific procurement), and supporting deal closure with health systems, payors, or pharma
Work closely with delivery teams to scope opportunities, align on success metrics, and ensure projects deliver measurable clinical and operational impact
Navigate complex healthcare stakeholder environments including C-suite, clinical leadership, IT, compliance, and procurement
Serve as connective tissue across Distyl teams, ensuring smooth handoffs and coordinated execution in healthcare engagements
Manage complex workstreams with enterprise healthcare clients, balancing multiple initiatives without losing focus on outcomes
Represent Distyl with healthcare executive stakeholders, building trusted relationships that last
Bring curiosity and insight to AI/LLM applications in healthcare, helping translate technology into clinical and business value while respecting regulatory constraints
Be a force multiplier for the company's healthcare vertical growth—wherever the bottleneck is, you lean in
5+ years of professional experience in healthcare operations, consulting, product management, strategy, or similar fields
Required: Direct operational experience with major health systems, payors, health plans, or pharma companies
Strong understanding of healthcare contracting, procurement cycles, and enterprise sales processes—able to navigate without being a "traditional salesperson"
Familiarity with healthcare regulatory environment (HIPAA, FDA, CMS requirements) and how it impacts technology adoption
Track record of operating in high-stakes, fast-paced environments where precision and adaptability matter
Excellent interpersonal skills—you can quickly earn trust, communicate with clarity across clinical and business stakeholders, and manage relationships at all levels
Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple complex priorities and execute with rigor
Passion for technology with exposure to AI/LLMs preferred; understanding of AI applications in healthcare a plus
Open to travel as needed (healthcare clients often require on-site presence)
Operational Experience: A proven record in managing complex projects or strategic leadership roles, with demonstrable experience in client-facing positions within AI or technology integration.
Exceptional Communication Skills: Capable of earning customer trust and liaising effectively between clients and internal teams.
User Empathy and Customer Focus: A deep sense of user empathy and a customer-obsessed approach, ensuring solutions are technically sound and aligned with customer needs.
Thrive in Ambiguity: Ability to identify critical problems in complex situations, define outcomes, and create structure among competing priorities.
AI Passion: A passion for AI and optimism about its potential to impact the world.
Coding Experience: Proficiency in programming, scripting, or statistical packages (e.g., Python, R, Matlab, SQL).
Travel: Ability to travel 25-75%, varying by team.

Note: Distyl is a hybrid working environment and requires in-office collaboration 3 days a week Tuesday through Thursday. We have offices in San Francisco, CA and New York, NY, and this role is available in either location.
