Schedules will vary week to week. Candidates must have flexibility in their availability and able to work all shifts (days/afternoons/nights) and up to 36-40 hours/week.

What’s involved in the Dairy Worker role:

Set Up (When Line is Not Ready)

  • To complete tasks which process controls require
  • To complete mould checks and change extractor bars when needed
  • Prepare packaging and inclusions as well as track usage on the tracking sheet
  • Track lot numbers
  • Assist with the operator upon startup and during change overs
  • Communicate with operator regarding direction for assistance (ie: sanitizer and sponges, garbage boxes, fill glue pots, help with supplies)
  • Ensure code daters/shrink wraps are functioning correctly

During Production

  • Check product for damage, proper packaging usage/integrity and product quality
  • Gather wrapped product as it exits the production line, place the product in the appropriate patterns in the shoot.
  • Feed product through chute into appropriate secondary packaging such as boxes or bags
  • Date if necessary and ensure that product travels on conveyer to freezer
  • Clear conveyer jams if necessary
  • Observe the specific work area for equipment problems, product jams, and code date accuracy
  • Communicate effectively to the operator any concerns relating to product or equipment
  • Ensure all necessary supplies are made and the proper information is coded on the supplies when appropriate (ie: boxes labeled, boxes prepared)
  • Assist the operator where applicable with packaging supplies (ie: cartons in mastercraft, cones in dispenser, cups in dispenser, glue pots filled)
  • Keep work area clean (ie: empty garbage, pick up sticks, wash floor, clean equipment)

Breakdowns During Production

  • Clean work area
  • Clear product from lines when appropriate
  • Communicate with operator regarding direction for assistance if required
  • Communicate with supervisor for direction if delay is excessive

During Shutdown

  • Ensure supplies are properly returned to container
  • Ensure all opened boxes are taped closed prior to shift end if time permits
  • Clean work area (ie: empty garbage, pick up sticks, wash floor, clean equipment)
  • Ensure all product is cleared from lines
  • Track lot numbers
  • Assist with set up and cleaning tanks/machines as needed
  • Any other duties as designated by Supervisor
  • Support the achievement of all corporate and site objectives

  • Bending, twisting and some heavy lifting

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • A full range of temperatures along with areas of high decibels
  • The environment may consist of dry and wet locations with the possibility of becoming slippery.
  • Working with cleaning chemicals is a job requirement.
