Purpose:
Performs a variety of guest service activities in an exceptionally friendly, professional, and efficient manner commensurate with the demands of a world-class hotel. The Driver provides relevant hotel information, transports guests via shuttle, and coordinates with other departments to satisfy guest requests.
Essential Functions:
- Welcomes guests to the Hotel
- Assists all arriving guests with luggage – coordinates the storage of luggage
- Maintains the cleanliness of luggage storage and bell closet areas at all times
- Assist with the cleaning of hotel’s bell carts on daily basis
- Maintains the cleanliness and organization of bell stand supplies and materials
- Provides parking information to guests
- Opens Hotel entrance door for guests
- Handles guest inquiries professionally and with the utmost courtesy and accuracy
- Provides guests with Hotel and surrounding area information and travel directions
- Drive hotel guests to and from the airport and other assigned trips, obeying all traffic rules and regulations constantly throughout shift to ensure a safe, accident-free trip/ transfers.
- Assist guests with storing and retrieving their luggage from Hotel Shuttle
- Open Shuttle doors to assist guests on and off the Hotel Shuttle.
- Respond to guest questions, issues and problems regarding transportation, hotel services and local events, points of interest and activities.
- Maintain the Hotel Shuttle; gas, oil, cleanliness; filling in daily Shuttle reports and reporting any malfunctions on a daily basis.
- Follows and obeys traffic rules & regulations
- Summons taxis for outbound guests and provides information regarding other transportation options
- Becomes familiar with guest names and acknowledges guests by name
- Maintains the cleanliness of Hotel front entrance area, immediately picking up any trash or debris, contacting Housekeeping for major cleaning tasks
- Provide detailed information about hotel facilities and operating hours.
- Is alert to guests who appear to be intoxicated and intend to drive a vehicle – notifies Security department immediately for assistance
- Assists Security in emergency situations when requested
- Ensures that deliveries of Hotel supplies and large cargo are made at the loading dock, NOT through the front door
- Establishes a good working relationship with all Hotel departments
- Assist with Group deliveries when asked
- Other duties as assigned
- Notifies appropriate individuals fully and completely of all problems and unusual matters of significance
- Is polite, friendly, and helpful to guests, management, employees
- Attends appropriate hotel meetings and training sessions
- Promotes and applies teamwork skills at all times
- Executes emergency standards in accordance with hotel standards
- Complies with safety regulations policies and procedures
- Complies with hotel and department standards, policies, and rules
- Remains current with hotel information and changes
- Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of equipment and work area
- Assist bell staff and doorperson when needed.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and guest relations skills
- Excellent knowledge of local area
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds and push a cart weighing up to 150 pounds
- Position requires continual bending, lifting, stooping, and pushing
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to drive all speed shifts of vehicle, van, limousines, shuttles and automobile
- Ability to drive under extreme road conditions such as rain & snow
- Excellent driving records as verified by the Motor vehicle report
- Must have a CDL license with Passenger Endorsement (P)
- Must maintain clean driving record
