The Software Engineer Intern will be involved in software engineering for microelectronics research and testbed development. This person will work with a multi-disciplined team involving software development, RF testing, and system integration. This person will be required to assist the team with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulations, signal processing, automated testing, system integration with hardware engineers, developing and refining algorithms, and cyber vulnerability research.

Requirements:

• Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student working towards degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or relevant technical field

• Minimum 3.5 GPA (Please list GPA on resume to be considered)

• Experience or familiarity programming in any of the following languages:

  • Python

  • C/C++

  • JAVA

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance

• Good communication and problem-solving skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Classroom level experience with the following languages or packages:

  • PyTorch Lightning

  • Haskell

  • JavaScript

• Experience with FPGA development using a Hardware Description Language (HDL) in a Vivado environment

• Experience with Linux

• Experience with networking connected devices

• HWIL testbed creation and/or maintenance

• Understanding of cryptographic algorithms and their applications

• Completed coursework related to electronics

• Tools:

  • MS Visual Studio Code

  • Git repository creation and maintenance

  • Xilinx Vivado
