A DAY IN THE LIFE:

As the engineering manager of the App Partner Integrations team at Clever, you’ll lead a team of engineers working on the core platform of Clever that helps connect the districts on our platform to our learning application partners. We work with large volumes of data that is integral to the success of Clever and education of America’s students. This product allows automatic creation of accounts for students, teachers, and staff so that they can use their applications on day one.

We're looking for an experienced engineering manager who wants to help teams build Clever into something every school, student, and teacher relies on.

As the manager for the App Partner Integrations team at Clever, you'll lead a collaborative team of engineers tackling impactful and exciting challenges like:

  • Leading and building the team that develops and maintains the backbone of the Clever platform, processing tens of millions of data events each day
  • Driving the execution of new features like intuitive UIs for Application
  • Integrations, sharing data between districts and developer APIs, and learning management system (LMS) integrations
  • Hiring outstanding engineers and growing a world class engineering team
  • Developing the skills and impact of the engineers who report to you through support and coaching
  • Collaboration with product, design, marketing, and other teams to define our roadmap and execute to meet our goals
  • Working with the other engineering managers and leaders to define engineering best practices and supporting their organizational adoption
  • Running an agile development process to efficiently build world-class software

We work across the full-stack to create products that are robust and delightful for students, educators, and developers to use. We write frontend code in Node.js, TypeScript, and React with Redux and use Go for backend services. We also use MongoDB, Postgres, Dynamo, Docker, and many AWS services (ECS, Step Functions,
etc).

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

You may be a fit for this role if you have:

  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • 4+ years of software development experience
  • Led projects and collaborated with a team to create meaningful impact
  • Architected systems to solve a variety of product and data needs
  • Strong fundamentals in software engineering
  • The desire and ability to mentor and support engineers at all levels of experience to build new skills and grow their impact at Clever
  • Willingness to manage remote teams across time zones
  • Excellent communication skills

SALARY TRANSPARENCY:

The range of our base salary cash compensation for this role for candidates living in the United States, besides NYC and San Francisco, CA, is between $161,000- $190,000 For candidates living in NYC and San Francisco, CA is between $177,000 - $209,000. All final offers are determined using multiple factors including experience and level of expertise.
