Job Description Summary

Join our dynamic Services team to support critical power infrastructure across onshore and offshore substations. You’ll provide expert technical support, diagnostics, and commissioning for advanced protection and automation systems, ensuring reliability and safety for our customers worldwide.
In this role, you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver first-line fault diagnostics and resolve failures in Substation Control & Protection systems (onshore/offshore) on a 24/7 rota basis.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers on installation, operation, and maintenance; generate detailed service reports.
  • Perform validation, FAT/SAT, firmware upgrades, and database modifications for protection and automation systems.
  • Support installation and commissioning of Protection & Substation Control Systems.
  • Conduct engineering consulting (relay settings, gateway configuration, coordination studies, short-circuit analysis).
  • Collaborate with the Centre of Excellence on product lifecycle and obsolescence management.
  • Manage customer complaints and ensure compliance with company processes.
  • Deliver internal/external training and continuously develop technical expertise.
  • Maintain safety standards, RAMS documentation, and quality control for all site activities.
  • Support Sales and Commercial teams with technical insights.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience in protection and substation automation systems (testing, commissioning, maintenance).
  • Hands-on experience with protection relays and control systems (LV/MV/HV); GE relays and DS Agile preferred.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages (Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese) are a plus.
  • Eligibility to obtain GWO certification for offshore work.
  • Willingness to travel globally (~160 days/year)
  • Valid driver’s license.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of SCADA, communication protocols, and automation systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills under pressure; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service orientation.
  • Collaborative team player with flexibility and self-learning aptitude.
  • Offshore certification and basic first aid skills preferred.
