Position Summary

Responsible for the Auxiliary financial operations including: 1) financial reporting and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, 2) transaction oversight, approval and processing, and 3) insuring adequate internal controls are maintained and 4) compliance with University, Federal, International and other requirements, regulations and policies. In addition, this position serves as the primary liaison and resource for area managers and directors regarding budget and financial issues.

Responsible for managing projects related to the financial operations of Dining Services, Whittemore House, Residential Life, Fraternity and Sorority Life, Summer Conferences and Program Services, and Congress of the South 40 (DS, WH,RL,FSL,SPCS,CS40).

Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages transition, related to Atrium and Starrez and integration into Workday student from a finance perspective.
  • Creates financial analysis related to the operations of all of DS, WH, RL, FSL, SPCS, and CS40 including all requests by Manager of Financial Operations, Director of Auxiliary Enterprises, business unit leaders or other departmental staff.
  • Creates and maintains policy and procedure manuals including step by step instructions for daily, weekly, monthly and annual tasks for all software utilized by all DS, WH, RL, FSL, SPCS, and CS40 including Workday, Adaptive Planning, Atrium and Starrez.
  • Analyzes the accounting systems and processes used by Dining Services with the goal of streamlining the processes and facilitating systems development and or enhancements. 
  • Develops and spearheads implementation of process improvements to increase efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Participates in committee meetings to facilitate integration of accounting/financial aspects of student housing and food service into the total student experience.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management experience.
  • Experience in WorkDay, StarRez and/or CBord/Odyssey.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a service-oriented communicator who is accessible and a team player with the ability to forge relationships and bring groups together on difficult accounting issues.
  • Ability to participate as a member on various types of teams and projects.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated individual driven by challenge with the ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy and productivity; strong analytical skills required. 
  • Ability to properly assess pertinent data and develop a framework for effective and practical solutions to complex issues.
  • Possess ability to meet deadlines with varying degrees of pressure.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and various accounting system applications.
  • Ability to research and report upon accounting and other technical issues; and ability to streamline/automate transaction processing and recording.
  • Experience working with personal computers; proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheet and data base management software applications.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor degree in accounting or related field and three to five years of related work experience.

Salary Range

$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
