HP Industrial Print SW & Solutions (IPSS)

The Strategist for IPSS Software and Data will spearhead the transformation of our PrintOS software and solutions to become the premier Industrial Print Intelligent Automation Platform.

We are on the hunt for a visionary Software and Data Architect who will spearhead the design and execution of cutting-edge cloud microservices, as well as data and AI/ML platforms and solutions.

This Architect shall craft the foundations for technology platforms, select the optimal software tools, and define the governance structure that unites all divisions within the Industrial print sector, thereby driving a unified solutions and data pipeline strategy, while facilitating robust collaborative ties both within and beyond the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Engage in ideating, developing, and executing the Intelligent Automation Platform, steering the architecture and determining technology specifications.

Formulate strategies for both the new Cloud Microservices and the Data & AI/ML platforms that reinforce the goals of the Industrial Print business and forthcoming AI-driven solutions.

Lead the charge in comprehending industry trends regarding cloud services, data, and AI technology and their implications on our business.

Work alongside fellow Architects and Product Owners within the Industrial Print group to promote utilization of Cloud, Data and AI/ML platforms and define requirements for novel software or applications.

Influence the creation of a revamped Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) geared towards yielding software and data products of superior value, with special focus on security, system integration, quality, scalability, privacy compliance, and adherence to regulations.

Guide the long-term planning for platforms, cloud services and solutions, ensuring cohesive alignment and collaboration throughout all units of Industrial Print businesses (such as Indigo, PWI, Scitex) and other Graphic associates (Large Format, 3D).

Propel the API strategy for the software products relating to the Industrial Print domain, initiating and expanding an external Developer Program that bolsters Industrial Print's partnerships and growth plans.

Serve as the principal technical contact for outside collaborators, assessing their capabilities and the quality and scalability of their technologies.

Participate in the critical appraisal of crucial strategic partners and define the framework for our interactions with them, ranging from joint development endeavors to minority investments or potential acquisitions.

Partner with the software engineering team to determine all facets of development and DevOps from selecting fitting technology and workflow to standardizing coding practices.

Supervise the development team's progression to guarantee software satisfies all standards of excellence, scalability, upgradeability, security, and regulatory conformity. Employ data analytics to assess both the quality and efficiency of our development cycle.

Offer technical mentorship, training, and guidance to developers, fostering events and learning opportunities (like hackathons, demo days, etc.), and crafting a professional development plan for our programmers.

Act as intermediary with other HP entities focused on software, data, and machine learning to ensure our strategies and applications are harmonized across the company. Advocate for the shared use and reinvestment in common platforms, tools, and processes within other software and data departments.

Education, Skills, and Experience Required

Possess a Master's degree or equivalent in Software Engineering, or preferably a doctoral degree or equivalent in a pertinent applied field.

Have over ten years' experience in crafting cloud solutions, employing agile methodologies and DevOps primarily on AWS.

More than a decade of expertise in data engineering, managing data lakes, and operating extensive big data systems pertaining to device telemetry.

Seasoned in generative AI technologies (LLMs, diffusion models, etc.), development cycles, and their application in business.

Versed in different development methodologies, including outsourcing, partnered co-development, and cultivating intensive strategic partnerships.

Proven adeptness in engagement, communication, and persuasion across varied organizational levels.

Strong team building and leadership ability, capable of guiding interdisciplinary groups through intricate technical challenges, with a broad view of differing disciplines’ timeframes, interdependencies, and limitations.

Recognized skill in mentoring and swaying engineering groups, acknowledged as a thought leader for advanced computing technologies and trends.

Acquainted with intellectual property and patenting processes, ideally as an authority on the industry IP landscape for data pipelines.
