We’re Hiring for a Material Handler! 

THE ROLE: The Material Handler will be responsible for handling materials required for production, line setup, preparation and crating in the assembly department.  We offer a full benefits package to include 4 WEEKS Paid Time Off (PTO) for hourly positions, health, dental, vision, investment savings plan, and other additional miscellaneous benefits.     

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:  To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  

  • Transactions to maintain inventory accuracy within computer system 

  • Transporting purchased material from receiving and putting to proper stock location 

  • Transporting finished goods inventory to stock area 

  • Keep work area clean and organized 

  • Follow ISO standards 

  • Provide back-up support for each other and for assigned areas 

  • Monitor and order non-inventory material from vendors 

  • May be asked to participate in some receiving activities including verification and counting 

  • Run daily and weekly reports to review/resolve material variances 

  • Transact operations and close shop orders in timely manner 

  • Review engineering changes for inventory impact 

  • Distribute new and revised processes to work centers 

  • Coordinate material in manufacturing 

  • Notify scheduling/planning of shortages, scrap, and other discrepancies in material counts 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 1+ years of material handling or similar experience preferred

  • Material Handler Training as provided by YSI; previous experience in a manufacturing environment desired 

  • Communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Basic math skills 

  • Ability to use computers and software in a variety of functions including keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, and e-mail 

  • Organizational skills, work with minimal guidance on daily tasks 

  • Willingness to provide support for other areas as necessary 

  • Ability to multi-task 

  • Work within dynamic environment with customer delivery pressure 

  • Attention to detail 

  

DAY IN THE LIFE: 

In this role, the working environment is a combination of hot and cold with exposure to elements such as: noise, dust, and brightly lit areas and the physical demands may include but not limited to regularly lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

The estimated pay range for this position is $18/hr.. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience, and work location.
