Responsibilities and Tasks

You will regularly work with Micron’s Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. In this role you will be expected to suggest, promote, and leverage published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure regulatory as well as license compliance.
 

  • Provide support for technologies maintained within the Unix/Linux compute space including Satellite, LDAP, Ansible and OpenShift
  • Maintain global collaboration with the other Micron IT operations teams, both internal and external
  • SOX compliance
  • Drive innovation and automation of computer solutions both internally and for our customers
  • Use scripting languages and tools to automate tasks, system builds, and change management (Ansible, puppet, shell, Python, Perl, etc.)
  • Monitor overall health of the Unix/Linux and OpenShift environment with an emphasis on proactive discovery of potential issues
  • Contribute as necessary to IT project execution
  • Continually work to improve Linux compute and OpenShift environment.
  • Propose and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of systems
  • Collaborate with IT Operations Manager to continually improve operations through routine monitoring of system performance metrics, review of system log files, trend analysis, configuration, incident, and problem management processes
  • Support Redhat Satellite, Ansible, LDAP, OpenShift & Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, and GCP) based Linux Operating Systems.

Qualifications / Experience

  • At least 5 years of managing enterprise Unix/Linux solutions, preferably large scale inclusive of Physical, Virtual, Public and Private Cloud.
  • Deep knowledge and experience supporting as well as troubleshooting RHEL 7,8 and 9.
  • High Preference to Linux and Kubernetes/OpenShift Skillset in addition to Redhat Satellite, Ansible, LDAP and Public Cloud Platforms
  • Basic understanding of LDAP configuration and management
  • Experience in Installing and Patching Linux servers using RedHat Satellite
  • Robust Technical Understanding of Linux OS Provisioning, Patching & End-to-End Troubleshooting.
  • Experience in Deploying Virtual Machines in any virtualization platform (VMWare/Nutanix) and Troubleshooting VM related Issues.
  • Strong Scripting Skills in at least one of the following (Ansible, Shell, Python, etc.)
  • Strong understanding networking concepts and OSI model
  • Experience in Lite & Portfolio Project Implementation.
  • Knowledge of SOX security requirements
  • Provide 24x5 technical support with weekend on-call availability for customer issues and vendor escalations.
  • Ensure a Service Level Agreement (SLA) of over 95% for handling incidents and catalog tasks.
  • Provide support for Jira cases and implement Requests for Change (RFCs) according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor the environment for potential system issues and resolve them appropriately.
  • Follow the change management process for planned maintenance or when potential issues are identified.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service
  • Strong drive for continuous improvement
  • Proven skills in automating systems services and tasks to streamline service and ensure consistency
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation, interpersonal)
  • Strong skills in decision-making, prioritization, and negotiation

Education:

B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, other technical disciplines, or equivalent work experience.
