Position Summary

The AVP, Program Management will partner with segment and enterprise executive leaders of CVS Health to successfully define business strategy and bring value realization goals to reality by ensuring successful delivery of program in segment portfolios.  This role will lead, create, and manage multi-year planning and budgeting for portfolios which might span across segments, ensuring success on some of the company’s most strategic objectives.  This role will need to be able to collaborate, consult, and influence others to drive and promote cultural changes.  This individual will manage enterprise-wide strategic initiatives by working with senior executives across the enterprise to deliver to the business outcomes through execution speed and effectiveness, driving a consistent approach, and understanding and supporting the unique requirements of CVS Health. Also ensure multi-million savings commitments are achieved through successful delivery of these programs


This individual will build high performing teams by providing opportunities, guidance, and feedback to develop colleagues and ensure a pipeline of talent for future growth.  This individual will also utilize your theoretical and practical application of portfolio, program management, and change management to influence leaders across the organization.



Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ leadership experience
  • 10+ years of experience managing portfolios which span multiple years and provide savings of $100M+
  • 10+ years of experience managing budgets which span multiple years across several programs totaling $100M+
  • Detailed understanding of Business Portfolio budgets including both Business and IT CapEx and OpEx
  • Experience leading teams comprised of Business focused Program and Project Managers
  • Detailed understanding of Portfolio Financials and Financial Models (Costs and Savings)
  • Strong communicator both verbal and written with the ability to influence across all functions and at all levels of the organization
  • Experience developing roadmaps
  • Exceptional relationship building, collaboration and influencing skills



Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of direct leadership and oversight of teams with 25+ people
  • 15+ years of experience developing, measuring, and driving improvements using key performance indicators
  • 15+ years of experience with complex, enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Familiarity with Workforce improvement strategies and models
  • Experience with vendor contracting processes
  • Ability to set team vision autonomously and establish a culture of delivery success
  • Healthcare experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$157,800.00 - $363,936.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
