Job Summary:

The Sr. Creative Designer – Store Design is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for developing impactful in-store visual communications—signage, point-of-purchase materials, and merchandising systems—that enhance the customer experience and reflect Lowe’s brand standards. Reporting to the Creative Manager, this role partners closely with teams across India and the US, including Copywriters, Producers, and external vendors, to deliver strategic, brand-aligned creative solutions.

The designer is expected to drive the end-to-end creative process with minimal oversight—bringing strong conceptual thinking, setting direction for junior team members, and providing strategic art direction that elevates design quality, ensures brand consistency, and influences cross-functional outcomes. They also lead design reviews, manage project workflows, and proactively contribute fresh ideas and initiatives that enhance the in-store experience. Strong storytelling, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of US retail and cultural context are key to success in this role.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Core Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver compelling in-store graphics, signage, and point-of-purchase materials that align with Lowe’s brand standards and enhance the customer journey.
  • Ensure consistency across store communications by applying and contributing to the evolution of Lowe’s Visual Standards Guidelines, including recommending improvements to signage systems and in-store communication. Develops templates and signage that unify multi-vendor resets for consistency
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across India and the US—including Copywriters, Producers, and Brand stakeholders—to translate creative briefs into effective, on-brand retail design solutions.
  • Support PLRs and RESETs by working cross-functionally with numerous teams—including but not limited to Visual, Collateral, PMs, FLEX, and Customer Experience—to develop designs that meet the intent of the requestor.
  • Provide art direction and feedback to vendor partners, product vendors, agency partners, and junior designers to ensure alignment with brand strategy, execution quality, and visual consistency.
  • Independently manage multiple projects from concept to delivery, balancing creative vision with timelines, production requirements, and accuracy.
  • Lead and participate in design reviews, present creative rationale to stakeholders, and iterate based on feedback and performance insights.
  • Maintain a proactive mindset, continuously contributing new ideas to improve the in-store experience, customer engagement, and visual storytelling.

Years of Experience:

  • 4-8 years in a similar role preferably in a design studio, advertising agency, store design/signage or retail organization.

Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Visual Communication, Retail Design, or a related field.
  • Design school graduate or equivalent professional training.

Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (must have)

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Mac OS environment.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, typography, composition, and branding.
  • A portfolio demonstrating excellence in store graphics, signage systems, and retail design.
  • Familiarity with production requirements for print and in-store materials.
  • Ability to balance creative flair with solution driven mindset.
  • Strong project management abilities, including prioritization and meeting deadlines.
  • Good communication skills – written and spoken

Secondary Skills (desired)

  • Familiarity with retail fixture systems, floor plan layouts, and visual merchandising principles.
  • Experience working with US stakeholders.
  • Exposure to photography or 3D visualization tools is a plus.
